  • Publication number: 20170055764
Abstract: A device for steaming and/or foaming milk primarily for, but not limited to, coffee beverages. The device attaches via machined threads to a standard coffee machine steam wand, but nonstandard sizes can be accommodated via a thread adapter. The device consists of two machined stainless pieces each with crescent shaped apertures that, when rotated relative to each other, allow for the increase or decrease in effective hole size to adjust the volume and pressure of steam being expunged. This adjustability allows for the user to decrease the aperture when foaming a small amount of milk (e.g. for a macchiato), or to increase the aperture for foaming more milk (e.g. for a latte).

  • Patent number: 9578769
Abstract: Various components of an electronic device housing and methods for their assembly are disclosed. The housing can be formed by assembling and connecting two or more different sections together. The sections of the housing may be coupled together using one or more coupling members. The coupling members may be formed using a two-shot molding process in which the first shot forms a structural portion of the coupling members, and the second shot forms cosmetic portions of the coupling members.

  • Publication number: 20170036201
Abstract: A method for separating catalyst particles from the FCC slurry oil present in the retentate of a filtered FCC slurry oil run-down stream is disclosed. The method comprises backwashing the run-down stream filter with a low boiling point solvent to extract slurry oil from the catalyst in the retentate. The backwash solution is sent to a digester where the catalyst fines are separated from the hydrocarbon component (solvent and slurry oil). The catalyst fines are collected and dried. The dried catalyst fines can be transported via pneumatic systems, and can be regenerated for further use as FCC catalysts. The solvent vapor from the drying process is collected for potential reuse. The hydrocarbon component is sent from the digester to an evaporator to evaporate the solvent from the slurry oil. The FCC slurry oil and the solvent exiting the evaporator can be independently collected. The solvent from the evaporator can be reused in the process.

  • Publication number: 20160340065
Abstract: A device for precise dispensation of whole coffee beans. The device may consist of a coffee bean hopper attached to an incremental dispensation device such as a toothed gear rotated by a stepper motor, whereby the rotation of the gear precisely dispenses whole coffee beans into a receptacle mounted upon a load cell or other weighing device. As the beans are dispensed into the receptacle, a PCB or other electronic component controls a feedback loop from the weighing device to the motor such that the dispensed amount is within +/?one coffee bean in weight. The desired weight may be input via buttons attached to the PCB with a readout that allows 0.1 g accuracy, or roughly the weight of one coffee bean.

  • Patent number: 9234372
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of apparatus, methods, and systems for securing articles, such as electronic articles (for example, laptop computers and the like) for theft deterrence or prevention. In some embodiments, theft deterrence is provided by securing the article(s) to an object that makes the task of removing the article more difficult for a would-be thief. Locking the article into the system or device often inhibits access to various fastening devices to further deter/prevent theft.

  • Publication number: 20150265894
Abstract: An apparatus and a method of play for a ball tossing game are disclosed. The apparatus includes one (1) bucket that stands alone at the center of an irregular pentagon board, four (4) buckets aligned at the center of an inclined board, and one (1) spherical ball. The irregular pentagon board and the inclined board are positioned at a distance from each other, with an equal number of players on each side representing a team. The game can be played outdoors or indoors with ample open space. The ball is tossed at the inclined board in turn with each toss being evaluated. Both teams are actively engaged in play at all times. The game is played until the completion of a predetermined number of team turns and a winner is declared as the team with the higher score.

  • Patent number: 9112316
Abstract: The present invention can relate to multiple-connector assemblies for use in, for example, electronic devices. Each of the connectors are constrained to another connector by aligning one or more complementary sets of reference features. A locating bracket may be used to couple multiple connectors together. Alternatively, the connectors may be coupled to each other directly. The electronic device also may include a retainer coupled to the connectors (either directly or indirectly through the locating bracket). The retainer and a surface of one of the connectors may form a single plane to which an end cap of the housing may be coupled, thereby accurately locating the end cap with respect to the connectors. The present invention also can relate to methods of manufacturing such an electronic device.

  • Patent number: 8968301
Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods for tissue dissection and modification are disclosed herein. A method for tissue dissection and modification may comprise inserting a tissue dissecting and modifying wand (TDM) through an incision in a patient's body. The TDM may comprise a tip having a plurality of protrusions with lysing segments positioned between the protrusions to dissect and/or modify tissue. The TDM may also comprise an energy window positioned on top of the TDM that is configured to deliver energy to modify tissues. After separating tissue using the lysing segment(s) to define a target region, the energy window may be activated and moved around within the target region to modify tissues. In some implementations, the energy window may be activated prior to and/or during dissection of the tissue such that the tissue is separated while tissue is modified within the target region.

  • Patent number: 8913394
Abstract: The present invention can facilitate the coupling between electrical components and a circuit board after the circuit board is inserted into a housing of an electronic device. An electrical component can be integrated with a flexible circuit of another electrical component. The flexible circuit can be electrically and mechanically coupled to the circuit board after the circuit board is inserted into the housing. Alternatively, electrical contacts can be disposed on a body of the electrical component and a complementary set of electrical contacts can be disposed on the circuit board. When the circuit board is disposed within a receptacle of the electrical component, the electrical contacts on the electrical component are coupled directly to the electrical contacts on the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 8810595
Abstract: The claimed subject matter relates to an architecture that can support a declarative model-based approach to designing, constructing, and rendering visualizations. By complying with a declarative descriptor, components can be readily customized by way of modifications to the model—declaratively specifying suitable features, behaviors, appearances and so forth. The descriptors that conform to the model can also facilitate connecting to various data sources and performing data transformation operations. Moreover, the descriptors that conform to the model can declaratively specify relationships based upon a scene layout. Accordingly, the architecture can further describe the scene layout and provide features based upon the layout.
