Abstract: Systems and methods for providing supplemental information with a response to a command are provided herein. In some embodiments, audio data representing a spoken command may be received by a cloud-based information system. A response to the command may be retrieved from a category related to the context of the command. A supplemental information database may also be provided that is pre-populated with supplemental information related to an individual having a registered account on the cloud-based information system. In response to retrieving the response to the command, supplemental information may be selected from the supplemental information database to be appended to the response to the command. A message may then be generated including the response and the supplemental information appended thereto, which in turn may be converted into audio data representing the message, which may be sent to a voice-controlled electronic device of the individual.

Abstract: A notched filter includes a multilayer having alternating first and second polymer layers, the first polymer layers each including an isotropic polymer thin film having in-plane refractive indices n1x and n1y, and the second polymer layers each including an isotropic or anisotropic polymer thin film having in-plane refractive indices n2x and n2y, where a thickness of each successive first polymer layer decreases with increasing distance from a centerline of the multilayer, and a thickness of each successive second polymer layer increases with increasing distance from the centerline. Such a filter may be configured to reflect incident light having a desired polarization state within a predetermined and relatively narrow band.

Abstract: This invention relates to modified MOF materials, methods of preparing them and processes using them. A modified MOF of the invention is modified by impregnating a MOF with an inorganic metal salt. The starting MOF contains at least one linker or ligand which contains an aryl amino group as part of its structure. These modified MOFs are able to adsorb either basic or acidic toxic industrial compounds (TIC). The modified MOFs can be used to remove TICs from various gaseous streams such as air.

Abstract: A short-path distillation apparatus and method of operation are described. An example short-path distillation apparatus includes a double-walled bulb-shaped condensing head. The double wall forms a coolant chamber that substantially envelopes an inner condensate chamber. Coolant is introduced into and removed from the coolant chamber via ports in the outer wall of the head. Condensate in gaseous form is introduced into the condensate chamber where it comes in contact with and condenses as distillate upon the cold inner surface of the condensate chamber. Condensed distillate travels down the inner surface of the condensate chamber and then into a distillate outlet conduit that transports the condensed distillate to a collection vessel.

Abstract: A method for accessing a dynamic transaction form within a webpage of a financial application includes receiving an initialization of the dynamic transaction form displayed on the webpage, generating the dynamic transaction form at a top portion of the webpage, sliding the dynamic transaction form from the top portion to a bottom portion of the webpage, and receiving a form input from within the dynamic transaction form. The method further includes completing, without the intervention of the user, a dependent transaction form element in the dynamic transaction form using the form input, receiving a selection of a submit button in the dynamic transaction form, closing, based on the selection, the dynamic transaction form by slidingly returning the dynamic transaction form from the bottom portion back to the top portion of the webpage, and performing a transaction triggered by closing the dynamic transaction form.

Abstract: A brew basket is provided for use in a beverage brewing machine. The brew basket includes a body defining a brewing reservoir that extends along a longitudinal length from an open top to a bottom end having one or more openings. The brewing reservoir has an internally tapered multi-sided three-dimensional (3D) shape. The brewing reservoir having a first cross-sectional area at the open top that progressively narrows along the longitudinal length of the multi-sided 3D shape to a smaller second cross-sectional area proximate to the one or more openings at the bottom end. The open top is configured to receive heated water from the brewing machine during a brewing operation with brewed beverage discharging from the one or more openings. The multi-sided 3D shape of the brewing reservoir configured to receive a filter pack having a generally tapered multi-sided 3D shape similar to the multi-sided 3D shape of the brewing reservoir.

Abstract: A social media experiential platform and method for establishing the operation thereof is disclosed. The social media experiential platform comprises users, subscribers, and sponsors. Users capture digital images at an event hosted by a subscriber. Thereafter, the user can post the digital images to a plurality of social network providers and/or print digital images via various printing methods utilizing a unified interface. In some embodiments, there is no cost to the user for printing the digital images and the printing materials are provided to the subscriber at no cost. In turn, each post and/or print of a digital image includes a plurality of tags to promote a sponsor and/or subscriber. The device includes a processor configured to receive a signature associated with content desired to be detected, and execute one or more functions based on the signature to determine whether network traffic content matches the content desired to be detected. The signature is defined by one or more predicates. A computer readable medium for use to detect network traffic content is also provided. The computer readable medium includes a memory storing one or more signatures, each of the one or more signatures associated with content desired to be detected. Each of the one or more signatures is defined by one or more predicates, and each of the one or more predicates can be compiled into a byte code stream that controls a logic of a network traffic screening device.
