  • Publication number: 20200339378
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for imparting a force during operation of a wire bobbin comprises a main shaft for receiving a wire bobbin, and a brake element operably coupled to the main shaft. The system may further comprise an adjustment assembly comprising an adjustment block and at least one adjustment spring, wherein the at least one adjustment spring is biased to provide a force on the adjustment block in a vertically-upward direction. The adjustment block may be operably coupled to the main shaft, such that a mass of the main shaft imposed upon the adjustment block combined with resistance of the at least one adjustment spring determines a vertical position of the main shaft and the brake element. A brake assembly may provide a brake force on the brake element, wherein the brake force is imparted to the main shaft via the brake element.

  • Publication number: 20160225494
Abstract: The present embodiments are directed to an armoring system comprising at least first and second strips. In one embodiment, a forming roll comprises first and second roll segments disposed adjacent to one another. Both the first and second strips are formed into modified shapes by the forming roll. The first and second strips are helically wound into a formed tube after passing through the forming roll.

  • Patent number: 9303355
Abstract: A coupler for shifting bobbin cradle sets between planetary and rigid mode positions on an umbilical standing machine includes a lever, a pinion gear, and a line shaft positioned through a center of the pinion gear and a cage of the stranding machine. A coupler block is slidable over the line shaft and engageable with the pinion gear to rotate a set of bobbin cradles via the pinion gear and the line shaft. Opposing cam followers controllable with the lever engage splines of the coupler block to shift the coupler block back and forth between being coupled to the pinion gear for planetary mode and coupled to the cage for rigid mode. Hollow sections on either side of the coupler block may engage lugs attached to the pinion gear and the cage, for attachment in planetary and rigid modes, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5134484
Abstract: Data to be displayed is combined with a composite video signal. The data is stored in a memory in digital form. Each byte of the data is read out in sequential fashion to determine: the recurrence display rate of the data according to the frame sync pulses of the video signal; the location of the data within the video image according to the line sync pulses of the video signal; and the location of the data display within the video image according to the position information. Synchronization of the data with the video image is derived from the sync pulses of the composite video signal. A similar technique is employed to combine sound data with an audio signal. Data to be displayed may be presented as a subliminal message or may persist for a given time interval. The data may be derived from a variety of sources including a prerecorded or live video signal. The message may be a reminder message displayed upon a television screen to remind the viewer of an appointment.
