  • Publication number: 20060020674
Abstract: A data processing system for providing archiving of individual mail content while maintaining a single copy mail store can include a mail application enabled to maintain a single copy mail store, a primary data store configured for high data throughput and acting as a single copy mail store for the mail application, and a secondary data store configured for mass storage and having a lower data throughput than the primary data store. The system further can include at least one archive implementation of an archive interface, the archive interface defining an archive task and a restore task. In one aspect of the embodiment, the system can include each of a content table, a content map table and a restore queue. Furthermore, the system can include a map view of archived content for a specified user, the map view providing a user interface for activating the restore task.

  • Publication number: 20050149582
Abstract: Disclosed is a lightweight database migration framework that allows schema definitions and incremental migrations to be pushed out to target local computers. The framework facilitates complex migrations by using either SQL script or programmatic migration methods to target local computers. Developers can download migration scripts from messages that are pushed to them, by electronic mail or otherwise, to synchronize their local database without the need to visit a central server. A base schema may be maintained via a set of incremental migration scripts, which generally correspond to milestone releases. In some embodiments, the scripts are specified via an XML document. The framework deduces a target database's schema version and automatically applies the necessary migration path to reach a target schema version. There is no need to visit a central server. Thus, there is no need to manage and maintain centralized server.

  • Publication number: 20050138059
Abstract: The present invention is a method, system and apparatus for generating parameterized installation scripts to accommodate the installation of multiple databases sharing similar physical constructs. The method of the invention can include the step of creating a database which can achieve the foregoing stated advantages of the present invention, a parameterized description of a physical data model can be first combined with a set of database specific properties to produce a physical database. A parameterized description of a logical data model can be second combined with the set of database specific properties to generate a logical model for the physical database. The first combining step can include the step of creating at least one bufferpool in the physical database as specified by the properties. Also, the first combining step can include the step of creating at least one tablespace in the physical database as specified by the properties.

  • Patent number: 6510420
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically building hierarchical groupings of business information based on member characteristics. The system includes a computer program that comprises: (1) a mechanism for choosing one or more characteristic orderings (i.e., a hierarchical model), a characteristic set made up of N characteristics, and an initial set of members; (2) a mechanism for assigning characteristic values for each of the N characteristics for each of the initial set of members; (3) a mechanism for dynamically creating hierarchical levels and level to level relationships based on the chosen characteristic order; and (4) a mechanism for dynamically creating new members and member to member relationships in each of the hierarchical levels.
