  • Patent number: 5872092
Abstract: Disclosed are nonaqueous, bleach-containing liquid laundry detergent compositions which are in the form of a suspension of particulate material, including peroxygen bleaching agent and an alkyl sulfate anionic surfactant, dispersed in a liquid phase containing an alcohol ethoxylate nonionic surfactant and a nonaqueous, low-polarity organic solvent. Such compositions provide especially desirable cleaning and bleaching of fabrics laundered therewith and also exhibit especially desirable chemical and phase stability.

  • Patent number: 5419847
Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous liquid bleach composition which remains stable over an extended period of time. The liquid bleach is easily pourable since it has a relatively low viscosity. The liquid bleach generally comprises (a) from about 1% to about 25% by weight of a water-soluble bleach activator; (b) from about 0.1% to about 10% by weight of hydrogen peroxide; (c) from about 1% to about 20% by weight of a phase stabilizer; (d) from about 0.001% to about 2% by weight of a chelating agent; and (e) the balance water. The liquid bleach composition is isotropic, translucent and has a viscosity of less than about 500 cps.

  • Patent number: 5234617
Abstract: An aqueous liquid bleach composition containing solid, water-insoluble organic peroxyacid, bleach-stable, stilbene fluorescent whitening agent, and polyvinyl pyrrolidone or polyvinyl alcohol is provided.A preferred aqueous liquid bleach composition comprising, by weight of the composition, from 5 to 15 weight % of mononylamido peroxyadipic acid; from about 0.4 to about 10 weight % of polyvinyl pyrrolidone with a molecular weight between about 5,000 and about 100,000; and from about 0.05 to about 2 weight % of a fluorescent whitening agent of the formula: ##STR1## Preferably, the ratio of polyvinyl pyrrolidone to fluorescent whitening agent is between about 20:1 and about 1:1 and the composition has a pH at 20.degree. C. from about 1 to about 6.5.

  • Patent number: 5194281
Abstract: This invention relates to polyol fatty acid polyester compositions having improved physiological properties, organoleptic properties (i.e. mouth feel), liquid/solid stability and chemical stability. These polyol fatty acid polyesters are characterized in that (a) not more than about 0.6% of the fatty acid groups contain three or more double bonds, not more than about 20% of the fatty acid groups contain two or more double bonds, and not more than about 35% of the fatty acid double bonds are trans double bonds; (b) the polyesters have an iodine value between about 15 and about 60; and (c) the solid fat content/liquid solid stability ratio is not greater than 0.25. This invention also relates to a process for preparing these improved polyol polyester compositions.
