  • Patent number: 11962896
Abstract: A method and device are provided for positioning a mounted camera. The device includes a holding element that secures the mounted camera to the device, a wireless linkage at which remote attitude commands representing attitude changes of a remote driver are received, a local controller that interprets the remote attitude commands and generates local attitude commands that move the camera to mimic an orientation of the remote driver, and an attitude sensing element that senses a local attitude of the device. The attitude sensing element includes a gyro, an accelerometer, or a magnetometer, and jitter present in the remote attitude commands is removed and not passed on to the local attitude commands.

  • Patent number: 10907878
Abstract: An evaporative cooling device including a combination of insulative surfaces and evaporative surfaces that may hold and cool contents with walls that are made of semipermeable materials. The evaporative surfaces store and facilitate the evaporation of a liquid to cool the interior of the evaporative cooling device while the insulative surfaces limit heat transfer in or out of the evaporative cooling device from air, sunlight or the ground. The evaporative cooling device is further capable of holding a variety of products at a temperature below ambient environmental temperature, assuming less than 100% humidity. Moreover, the evaporative cooling device may be designed to be lightweight and collapsible for easy transport and storage.

  • Publication number: 20040072225
Abstract: The present invention provides a retrieval unit for a microarray processing device to transport a workpiece such as a microscope slide before or after processing operations by the microarray processing device. The retrieval unit may include a storage unit and a lifter unit. The storage unit has a storage frame, a storage rack and a first motor. The storage rack is adapted to store microscope slides. The storage rack is mounted to the storage frame and capable of sliding in a first plane by the first motor. The lifter unit has a loader frame, a loader arm and a second motor. The loader arm is mounted to the loader frame and capable of sliding in a second plane by the second motor. The loader arm is capable of accessing a selected microscope slide from the storage rack. The loader arm uses a vacuum chuck to retain the microscope slide on the loader arm. The loader arm may also have a motor to enable it to extend the vacuum chuck below the bottom surface of a microscope slide.
