  • Publication number: 20260154061
Abstract: An embodiment includes a method to reduce operational impact from dysfunctional rollouts of product updates in managed networks. Before distributing a product update, input data about the rollout is received. Using the input data, an optimized distribution procedure is generated to minimize disruption and maximize product update distribution speed. The method includes selecting a subset of endpoints for initial deployment and assigning a specific time window for the distribution. A preconfigured distribution procedure is modified by modifying selection and timing parameters to align with the optimized distribution procedure. An update package is created to facilitate local implementation at the endpoints. The product update is then distributed according to the procedure and using the update package.

  • Publication number: 20260154063
Abstract: A method of reducing operational impact resulting from a dysfunctional rollout of a product update in a managed network. The method includes initiating a distribution of a product update to a subset of endpoints according to a first distribution procedure. During the distribution, the method includes receiving input data related to the distribution; determining, based on the received input data, an optimized update distribution procedure for the product update and the managed network; and determining whether the optimized update distribution procedure includes an adjustment. Responsive to the optimized update distribution including an adjustment to a parameter of the first distribution procedure, the method includes modifying the parameter of the first distribution procedure according to the adjustment of the optimized update distribution to generate a modified distribution procedure.

  • Publication number: 20260030016
Abstract: An embodiment includes a method of management of unsupported applications in a managed network. The method includes receiving information that identifies the unsupported application that is not updated by a product update system. The method includes obtaining prerequisite detection logic metadata configured to identify an instance of the unsupported application installed at an endpoint. The method includes generating a post-install detection logic and installation instructions. The method includes pre-populating an update system with the prerequisite detection logic metadata, the post install detection logic, and the installation instructions to generate a custom update application. The method includes receiving an indication of an outstanding update to the unsupported application and generating a patch package for the unsupported application based on the custom update application. The method includes causing distribution of the patch package causing a change in a state of the unsupported application.

  • Publication number: 20240338200
Abstract: A method of product update management in systems having product access restrictions associated with administrative credentials includes detecting that an operating system (OS) update is outstanding at an endpoint. The method includes communicating a request for an OS update to the endpoint and determining whether it is enrolled in a mobile device management (MDM) environment. If the endpoint is enrolled in the MDM environment, the method includes communicating a request for an MDM call to an MDM module of a management device. The MDM module includes authority to initiate the OS update. The method includes queuing and scheduling an OS update command with an MDM requester. The method includes communicating, by the MDM requester, an update command to a vendor agent of the endpoint. The method includes interfacing with a third party update service to retrieve an OS update and communicating with the OS to initiate installation the OS update.
