Abstract: A method for converting a source document having graphical subject matter into an interactive document includes receiving, via a user interface, input regarding information to be tagged to objects on the source document and tagging information to objects on the source document in response to the input, thereby creating interactive effects based on the tagged information. The interactive effects can include pop-ups, external e-mail and URLs, and other interactive behavioral actions. A set of files that defines an interactive document is automatically created, wherein the interactive document incorporates the subject matter of the source document and includes the interactive effects. In another aspect, a computer readable medium containing instructions for controlling a computer system to perform a method of converting a source document having graphical subject matter into an interactive document is provided.
