  • Patent number: 9494922
Abstract: A parking meter with an antenna for radio frequency (RF) communication is provided. An antenna for the parking meter may be located in order to transmit the RF signals through a transmission path comprising at least a portion of the parking meter that provides a low attenuation of RF signals.

  • Publication number: 20110316716
Abstract: A parking meter and parking meter network is described as well as a method of operating the parking meter and parking meter network. The parking meter network includes a gateway that transmits a first beacon message that is received at the parking meter. The parking meter synchronizes an internal timer based on the receiving of the first beacon message, and then goes to sleep for a period of time. The gateway transmits a second beacon message and the parking meter wakes up at the expiration of the sleep period using the synchronized internal time and receives the second beacon message.

  • Publication number: 20110276519
Abstract: A wireless parking meter with an improved antenna location is described. The antenna may be located within a covering protruding from the top of the parking meter, allowing radio frequency (RF) signals to be transmitted through a portion of the parking meter with high permittivity to the RF signals. Additionally or alternatively, the antenna may be located within the parking meter housing above a lower parking meter mechanism housing so that RF signals can be transmitted through the dome covering of the parking meter, which may have a high permittivity to the RF signals.

  • Publication number: 20080172628
Abstract: A computer user interface may be used to create and maintain semantic relationships between data objects on a computer system. Multiple sets of data objects identified by user selections, queries, searches, or other criteria may be presented in display panes on the user interface. Users may then select data objects via the user interface in order to view or create new relationships between the data objects. Based on the selection of the data objects and a determination of the associated data object types, a set of semantic relationships applicable to the selected data object or objects may be retrieved and displayed in the user interface. A user may subsequently select and create an appropriate semantic relationship between data objects, thereby not only establishing an association between the objects, but providing a specific and useful meaning to the association.
