  • Patent number: 10767506
Abstract: A system for controlling a plurality of hydraulic effectors operably connected to an engine to control engine parameters. The system also includes a plurality of sensors operably connected to measure a state or parameter of each effector, a pump configured to supply fluid to the plurality of effectors, and a controller operably connected to the plurality of sensors, the plurality of effectors, and the pump. The controller executes a method for an adaptive model-based control for controlling each effector, The method includes receiving a request indicative of a desired state for each effector, receiving a weighting associated each request, obtaining information about a current state of each effector, and updating an adaptive model based control (MBC) based upon the information. The method also includes generating a control command for an effector based upon the adaptive MBC and commanding the effector based upon the control command.

  • Patent number: 10747010
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a prism system is provided. The prism system includes a polarizing beam splitter (PBS) surface. The PBS surface is configured to generate first and second sub-beams having corresponding first and second polarization information from a received beam, the second polarization information being different than the first polarization information. A first optical path of the first sub-beam within the prism system has substantially same length as a second optical path of the second sub-beam within the prism system. Additionally or alternatively, the first sub-beam achieves a predetermined polarization extinction ratio.

  • Patent number: 10617498
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for endodontic treatment of teeth provide effective cleaning of organic material (such as pulp and diseased tissue) from the root canal system. In an embodiment, a compressor system generates high pressure liquid (e.g., water) that flows through an orifice to produce a high-velocity collimated jet of liquid. The high-velocity jet is directed toward a surface of a tooth, for example, an exposed dentinal surface, and impingement of the jet onto the surface generates an acoustic wave that propagates throughout the tooth. The acoustic wave effectively detaches organic material from dentinal surfaces and tubules. The detached organic material is flushed from the root canal system by the liquid jet and/or by additional irrigation.

  • Patent number: 10613533
Abstract: The present disclosure describes delivery and/or retrieval of inventory holders to different transfer locations using an automated ground vehicle. In accordance with the described implementations, rather than the vehicle waiting at the transfer location for the agents to arrive and retrieve the items from the inventory holder, the autonomous ground vehicle, working in conjunction with an autonomous transition unit that accompanies the vehicle, transfer the inventory holder containing the items to the transfer location and departs without waiting for the agents to retrieve the items from the inventory holder and continues on to another transfer location at which it will deliver another inventory holder and/or retrieve an inventory holder. Once all the items have been retrieved from an inventory holder delivered to a transfer location, the autonomous ground vehicle may update its route to navigate back to the transfer location and retrieve the inventory holder.

  • Patent number: 10598158
Abstract: A method for detaching or installing a rotor blade from or to a hub of a wind turbine includes positioning the rotor blade toward a ground location between a three o'clock position and a nine o'clock position. The method also includes mounting a mechanical arm to an uptower location of the wind turbine. Further, the mechanical arm includes a torqueing tool at a distal end thereof. Thus, the method also includes removing or installing, via the torqueing tool, each of the plurality of hub fasteners so as to detach or attach the rotor blade from or to the hub.

  • Patent number: 10552799
Abstract: An option is presented with an electronic message to automatically upload and permission an attachment to the electronic message. A single click may be received to upload the attachment to a shared location (e.g. network share, online service, and the like). Permissions may be automatically set for the message recipients of the electronic message. For example, a default set of permissions and/or custom permissions may be set for each of the recipients listed on the To:/Cc:/Bcc: lines. A link to the shared location may also be automatically inserted into the electronic message along with or in place of the attachment.

  • Publication number: 20200009668
Abstract: A reciprocating saw includes a housing, a motor, and a drive mechanism. The motor is configured to operate in a forward mode corresponding to a first rotational direction, and in a reverse mode corresponding to a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction. The drive mechanism includes a driven gear, a connecting rod, an output shaft, and a counterweight. The driven gear is rotated by the motor and has an upper portion and a lower portion. The output shaft reciprocates through a cutting stroke and a return stroke. The counterweight is coupled to the driven gear and rotating with the driven gear. When the motor is operated in the forward mode, the counterweight moves through the upper portion of the driven gear during the cutting stroke of the output shaft, and moves through the lower portion of the driven gear during a return stroke of the output shaft.

  • Patent number: 10495320
Abstract: An oven appliance having an oven chamber positioned within a cabinet and a top panel defining one or more vent apertures includes a false back assembly for facilitating the containment of spilled fluids and the cooling of electronic components within the cabinet. The false back assembly includes a false back spaced apart from a range back to define a spill channel. A spill deflector is positioned below the vent apertures and above the spill channel along the vertical direction such that the spill deflector is configured for collecting fluids spilled through the vent apertures and directing the spilled fluids to the spill channel where they may be safely routed around sensitive electronic components.

  • Publication number: 20190275597
Abstract: A power tool includes a housing, a motor, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a driven gear that is rotated by the motor. The driven gear is vertically-oriented within the housing and has an upper portion and a lower portion. The drive mechanism also includes a connecting rod coupled to the driven gear to translate rotary motion of the driven gear into reciprocating motion, and an output shaft coupled to the connecting rod to reciprocate relative to the housing through a cutting stroke and a return stroke. • Patent number: 10399206
Abstract: PDCs, methods of fabricating the PDCs, and methods of using the PDCs are disclosed herein. The PDCs include a PCD table bonded to a substrate. The PCD table includes an upper surface having a plurality of recessed features formed therein. The plurality of recessed features are configured to attract at least some cracks that form in the PCD table. As such, the plurality of recessed features limit or prevent crack propagation into other portions of the PCD table and limit a volume of the PCD table that spalls. Methods of fabricating the PDCs include partially leaching the PCD table and, after leaching the PCD table, forming the plurality of recessed features in the upper surface thereof. Method of using the PDCs include rotating a PDC that has spalled relative to a rotary drill bit such that a portion of the upper surface of the PDC that has not spalled forms a cutting surface thereof.
