  • Publication number: 20240217791
Abstract: A free-fall safety device for installation on a machine assembly having a load includes a base member having a locking member disposed thereon, a lifting member releasably secured to the base member, the lifting member for supporting the load in position on the machine assembly, wherein the base member is rotatable in response to a reduction in tension applied to the lifting member, in order to engage the locking member to lock the base member and lifting member in position on the machine assembly. In one embodiment, rotation of the base member is effected by decompression of a moveable member in response to a change in tension within the lifting member. If the lifting member suffers a sudden catastrophic failure, then tension in the lifting member will be released, which in turn will activate and decompress the moveable member and cause the base member to rotate into a locking position.

  • Publication number: 20190388939
Abstract: A parts feeder which incorporates a position-controlled conveyor, a unique flex crowder system and destacker for promoting the singulation of parts on the conveyor, and a vision enabled reject mechanism to select and reject non-compliant parts. In this regard, parts to be sorted are lifted onto a conveyor and run past a series of adjustable crowder sections, including a flex crowder section, past a destacker element and into a singulation zone whereupon multiple camera images of both edges and features in conjunction with conveyor speed, conveyor position and laser triggering synchronize the parts to be rejected. The parts feeder incorporates adjustable settings thereby obviating the need to switch out components for the purpose of accommodating parts of various shapes and sizes.

  • Patent number: 10122629
Abstract: The methods and systems described herein provide a mechanism to externalize network functions through a direct link between a network switch and an external packet processor. The network switch is configured to receive a packet directed to a destination node via a first network interface. The network switch is also configured to forward the received packet to a packet processor, via a second network interface, over a direct physical link between the network switch and the packet processor. The packet is forwarded with an identifier for a virtualized network function executing on the packet processor and a destination MAC address of the packet is different from a MAC address of the packet processor.
