  • Publication number: 20150120498
Abstract: A method for assisting in locating the occurrence of at least one desired item in a storage location includes steps performed by a mobile device that has an image capturing device. The steps include capturing at least one image or video sequence or live video feed representing said storage location via the image capturing device; recognizing any occurrence of the desired item within the captured image or video sequence or live video feed; presenting information related to the location of the desired item; and, in the event that the desired item is not captured by the image capturing device, providing a notification of at least one alternative item.

  • Patent number: 8926580
Abstract: An absorbent article includes an absorbent pad and a belt to which the pad is detachably attached and which is intended to be attached to a separate belt that is placed around the waist of the wearer to hold the pad when the article is being worn, wherein the absorbent pad exhibits a chassis including a liquid-permeable top sheet and a liquid-impermeable back sheet oriented away from the wearer and an absorbent core between the top sheet and the back sheet. The difference in kinetic coefficients of friction measured with ASTM D 1894-08 standard between the back sheet of the pad and the outwardly oriented surface of the belt is at maximum 0.5. The attachment between the belt and the pad will then not cease due to the movement of the article relative to the surroundings when the belted-article is being used, thereby preventing contamination and leakage caused by detachment.

  • Publication number: 20140333442
Abstract: A method for monitoring use of an absorbent product, such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a user. The method includes the step of detecting, by means of an odour sensor device capable of being carried by the user and configured to communicate with a mobile device of the user, at least one chemical indicative of a presence of urine and/or feces in the product. It further includes the steps of transmitting a signal indicative of said detection from the odour sensor device to the mobile device, receiving the signal in the mobile device, and providing, by means of the mobile device, product-related information to the user based on the signal. In this way, the user can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product, for example recommendations on when to change the product, displayed on the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20140327546
Abstract: A method for monitoring use of an absorbent product, such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a wearer, includes registering a movement of the wearer by way of a mobile device having a movement sensing device, evaluating whether the registered movement is indicative of urinary and/or faecal voiding by the wearer, and providing product-related information to the wearer or a caregiver of the wearer based on said evaluation. In this way, the product-wearer or the caregiver can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product, such as recommendations on when to change the product, displayed on the mobile device or a mobile device of the caregiver.

  • Publication number: 20140301628
Abstract: A method for measuring the absorption of fluid in an absorbent product includes at least the following steps performed by a mobile device having an image capturing device: capturing at least one image of a used absorbent product; determining a measure of absorption of fluid by the product based on image information in the captured image; and displaying information relating to the use of the absorbent product based the measure of absorption of fluid on the mobile device. The method can aid a user of absorbent product to choose the right type of product for the user's individual needs.

  • Publication number: 20140292520
Abstract: A method for monitoring use of an absorbent product, such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a wearer is provided. The method includes obtaining, by way of a mobile device, intake information indicative of intake of fluid and/or solid material by the wearer, obtaining, by way of the mobile device, voiding information indicative of urinary and/or faecal voiding by the wearer, predicting, based on the intake and voiding information, future voiding by the wearer, and providing, by way of the mobile device, product-related information based on the prediction. In this way, the product-wearer or his caregiver can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product, for example recommendations on when to change the product.

  • Patent number: 8790324
Abstract: An absorbent article includes side panels for securing around the waist of the user. The absorbent article includes a first end, a second end, and an absorbent section therebetween. The first end has longitudinal side edges and a first waist line edge. A pair of side panels extend from longitudinal side edges of said first end of the absorbent article, and are shaped and dimensioned so as extend beyond the first waist line edge of the first end of the absorbent article a longitudinal extent so that the side panels may be secured above the hip joints of the user.

  • Publication number: 20120136329
Abstract: An absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin, includes a top sheet and a back sheet with an absorbent core sandwiched therebetween. To decrease transverse leakage, a channeled acquisition distribution layer is placed between the absorbent core and the top sheet. The acquisition distribution layer has apertures and channels open toward the top sheet extending in the longitudinal or machine direction of the article. The channels have a lower permeability through the layer than the remaining portions of the acquisition distribution layer by containing less apertures or by melting the channels so that material fills in substantially all of the apertures in the channels. In further embodiments, the channels may be impermeable and extend substantially the full length of the acquisition distribution layer.

  • Publication number: 20100191205
Abstract: An absorbent article includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet. A first barrier layer and a second barrier encapsulate an additive therebetween. The second barrier layer is disposed between the topsheet and the absorbent core and the first barrier layer is disposed on a topsheet. An opening system is provided that allows the first barrier layer to be secured to a release paper, outer packaging or article itself, so that it is removed with the release paper, outer packaging or unfolding of the product. As such, the first barrier layer need not be separately removed, and is hidden from view, thereby eliminating the step of separately removing the barrier layer.
