  • Patent number: 11809789
Abstract: A method for implementing a component design model includes defining a component design specification, defining at least one variation mode parameter of a component manufacturing process, constructing a parametric model relating the at least one variation mode parameter to the component design specification, determining an expected component output based on the parametric model and comparing the expected component output to at least one as-manufactured component, and defining the parametric model as accurate in response to the expected output component matching the at least one as-manufactured component within a predefined degree of accuracy.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 6, 2019
Date of Patent: November 7, 2023
    Assignee: RTX CORPORATION

  • Patent number: 10100648
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a damper configured to be located in a cavity formed between first and second bases configured to seat respective first and second airfoils, the damper having a first face and a second face, where an aspect ratio between the first face and the second face ensures that the damper is installed in the cavity in accordance with a predetermined orientation.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 16, 2018
    Assignee: United Technologies Corporation
Inventors: David A. Niezelski, Joshua D. Winn, Jeffrey S. Beattie
  • Patent number: 9828881
Abstract: A seal support structure for a turbomachine includes a mounting portion shaped to mount to a stationary structure of a turbomachine and a cylindrical leg portion disposed on the mounting portion extending axially from the mounting portion. The cylindrical leg portion can include a radially extending flange. The flange can extend at an angle of 90 degrees from the end of the cylindrical leg portion. The flange can extend at least partially in an axial direction. The cylindrical leg portion can be formed integrally with the mounting portion. In embodiments, the cylindrical leg portion is not integral with the mounting portion, i.e., the cylindrical leg portion is a separate piece joined to the mounting portion.
