  • Publication number: 20020026521
Abstract: A system and method for managing and distributing a multi-media presentation from a single central location. In one illustrative embodiment, the system relies on a plurality of servers to manage respective assets of the presentation. The system receives a packaged presentation over a communications network, with the presentation consisting of a plurality of files in different file formats. The presentation is unpackaged and the files are distributed to the appropriate servers. A copy of the packaged presentation is also maintained. A recipient may either download the presentation for subsequent viewing, or the central system may host the presentation, with the respective servers cooperating to transmit the various files to the requester in a streaming manner.
