  • Publication number: 20250187577
Abstract: An electromechanical brake system comprises: a screw-nut mechanism comprising a rotatable body and a translatable body configured to be axially translatable relative to the rotatable body to move a brake pad according to rotation of the rotatable body; and an actuator assembly comprising a motor having a motor shaft, and a multiple-stage drive mechanism having belt and gear drive mechanisms and operably connecting between the motor shaft and the rotatable body of the screw-nut mechanism. The belt drive mechanism comprises: a drive belt; a drive pulley provided on the motor shaft; and a driven pulley connected to the drive pulley of the motor shaft via the drive belt, wherein the driven pulley is provided on an intermediate shaft. The gear drive mechanism comprises: a first gear provided on the intermediate shaft; and a second gear rotatably engaged with the first gear to rotate the rotatable body of the screw-nut mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20230331286
Abstract: A vehicle steering system comprises: an input shaft rotatable in response to an input for moving vehicle wheels; a motor generating torque to be supplied to an output shaft through a belt assembly; a gear assembly; a rotary-linear conversion mechanism, and a sector gear; and the rotary-linear conversion mechanism combining rotary motion of the input shaft and the torque transferred from the motor. The torque generated by the motor can be transferred to the output shaft through the belt assembly, the gear assembly, the rotary-linear conversion mechanism, and the sector gear, thereby improving mechanical efficiency, reducing back-drive torque, and providing a multi-stage reduction mechanism to generate required pitman torque from the motor. The combined use of the belt assembly, the gear assembly, the rotary-linear conversion mechanism, and the sector gear enables to the motor to generate required steering torque, while meeting system back-drive performance requirements and current draw power requirements.

  • Patent number: 10811934
Abstract: An electromechanical actuator package for supplying toque to a handwheel, may comprise: a motor comprising a motor rotor shaft; a belt drive mechanism connecting the motor rotor shaft to an actuator output via a drive belt, the actuator output directly or indirectly connected to the handwheel; a circuit board; and a housing enclosing the motor, the belt drive mechanism and the circuit board, wherein the circuit board is positioned between one end of the motor rotor shaft and an inner surface of the housing. The actuator output may protrude from the driven pulley in a direction away from the circuit board and pass through an opening formed in the lower surface of the housing. Alternatively, the actuator output may protrude from the driven pulley toward the circuit board and pass through openings formed in the circuit board and the upper surface of housing.
