Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for managing ambulatory orders. Electronic pending orders may be received in a central repository where they are held until requested by an authorized performing entity. The performing entity may be a laboratory. A performing entity is authorized using various criteria including patient information such as patient insurance, performing entity information such as services offered at the performing entity (e.g., tests performed at a laboratory). Each of the pending order and the completed order may be associated with identifiers that can be matched back to one another and associated with a patient's electronic health record (EHR) when completed.
