  • Patent number: 10939176
Abstract: A live media streaming system and method is presented herein. The system and method includes broadcasting a live media stream in at least one of a plurality of themed broadcasting channels, the live media stream being transmitted from a broadcasting device corresponding to a broadcasting user. A jump zone (a physical region or area) is selected or defined based upon predetermined jump zone criteria corresponding to the at least one of the plurality of themed broadcasting channels. Further, a next broadcasting user is selected, wherein the user is located within the physical geographic region of the jump zone. Once the next broadcasting user is selected, a live media stream is broadcasted from the next user's broadcasting device.

  • Patent number: 10885009
Abstract: Approaches provide for management of resources such as data storage devices. For example, such approaches include providing an indexing service to reliably index data that may be accessed and used over one or more networks by any of various users, applications, processes, and/or services. As one example, data storage devices that store data may in some embodiments be co-located at a geographical location, such as in each of one or more geographically distributed data centers, and the application(s) that use a volume stored on a data storage device may execute on one or more other physical computing devices. An indexing service can operate on more or more of the data storage devices or portions of the data storage devices such as a directory, to manage and index data. The indexing service can monitor activity on a data storage device and any additions, deletions and/or modifications to data (e.g., documents, files, etc.

  • Publication number: 20200320111
Abstract: A user interface of an entity-centric knowledge discovery system presents an entity profile including a mix of structured and unstructured data relating to an entity. As a user refines the entity profile based on information gathered from various sources, the changing entity profile can be used as a substantially continuously updating query to search, retrieve, and rank new and pertinent information specifically relevant to the profiled entity. The platform described herein provide an active loop for refining an entity description and searching for additional information in which human input and machine-based algorithms can cooperate to more quickly build a comprehensive description of an entity of interest.

  • Publication number: 20200144091
Abstract: An apparatus and method for facilitating the removal of layers from a die for an integrated circuit while maintaining the planarity of the surface of the die by avoiding rounding the corners and other edges of the die. A pocket is created in a sacrificial material, such that when the die is inserted into the pocket the edges of the die are contiguous with the walls of the pocket and a top surface of the die is coplanar with a top surface of the pocket. The sacrificial material may be the same material as the die. An adhesive substance is placed in the pocket, and the die is inserted into the pocket and against the adhesive substance which aids in retaining the die in the pocket. The layers may then be removed from the die and the sacrificial material around the die without rounding the edges of the die.

  • Publication number: 20190008503
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a surgical device configured to deliver implants and a method of repairing damaged tissue, such as meniscus tears. One exemplary surgical device includes a cannula and a pusher moveable within the cannula to deploy a plurality of implants. Movement of the pusher in the distal direction deploys a distal-most implant and moves any additional implants distally within the cannula. Thus, multiple implants can be loaded into the cannula and deployed using one pusher. The disclosed arrangement is easy to use and has fewer component parts compared to prior devices, which in turn increases the ease of manufacture and reduces cost.

  • Patent number: 9939534
Abstract: A semiconductor image sensor is repeatedly exposed to high-energy photons while a visible light obstructer is in place to block visible light from impinging on the sensor to generate a set of images from the exposures. A composite image is generated from the set of images with common noise substantially removed so the composite image includes image information corresponding to radiated pixels that absorbed at least some energy from the high-energy photons. The composite image is processed to determine a set of bright points in the composite image, each bright point being above a first threshold. The set of bright points is processed to identify lines with two or more bright points that include pixels therebetween that are above a second threshold and identify a presence of the high-energy particles responsive to a number of lines.

  • Publication number: 20170178095
Abstract: Intelligent advice and transaction handling systems and methods. An embodiment includes a merchant device, a merchant server computer, a consumer mobile device, and a smart preferences computer having a decision engine operably connected to a storage device. The storage device stores instructions configured to cause the decision engine to receive service call data associated with a purchase transaction, and determine that a cardholder associated with the purchase transaction is a registered smart preferences user. The process includes accessing smart preferences cardholder profile data, determining a recommendation including at least a first choice payment card account and a second choice payment card account, and then transmitting the first choice payment card account data to the merchant device for purchase transaction processing when the cardholder profile data includes a permission indication. However, the recommendation is transmitted to the cardholder device when the permission indication is not found.
