  • Publication number: 20240293020
Abstract: A modular access medical system configured to enable a surgeon to conduct a medical procedure in fluid contained within a defined space is disclosed. As such, the system increases visibility to an operating surgeon by eliminating smoke and other vapors formed during use of a medical instrument at the surgical site. The modular access medical system may be formed from a distal end of a cannula configured to be placed into contact with tissue such that fluid can be administered within the cannula and retained therein to facilitate a surgical procedure to be conducted via one or more instruments extending through fluid contained within the cannula.

  • Publication number: 20240081809
Abstract: Surgical constructs, assemblies, kits and methods of tissue fixation are disclosed. A suture passing instrument includes a curved tip integral with a distal end of a shaft, a hand assembly mounted on a proximal end of the shaft, and a flexible strand attached to one or two needles and loaded through a cannulation of the shaft. The curve-shaped tip is adapted to engage dural tissue during repairs of the dura mater. The suture passing instrument can grasp and manipulate dura mater and can allow multiple suture passes through the dura mater without removal of the instrument from the durotomy site. The suture passing instrument is provided with a safety mechanism that prohibits the needle(s) to be fired into nerves, providing a safe, reliable, inexpensive, and speedy repair of a durotomy.

  • Publication number: 20230301694
Abstract: Bone plates are disclosed for veterinary uses. For example, the bone plates could be utilized for repairing distal humerus fractures in canines or felines. The bone plates may include various features for better accommodating the anatomy and native tissue structure of the distal humerus of an animal and may be utilized for all distal humerus fracture patterns.

  • Publication number: 20220338909
Abstract: A TPLO plate configured to accommodate flexible strands (flexible loops) attached to tissue to be attached to bone. The TPLO plate has one or more suture eyelets, to allow the user (surgeon) to pass a flexible strand through the eyelets and attach/reattach the tissue to the plate at the anatomical location, and to improve the rotational stability of the joint or bone. The eyelets may have various shapes, forms and configurations and may be provided on or within a surface of the TPLO bone plate in any number, depending on the characteristics of the fractured bone or bone segments, or of the plate design. The eyelets preferably receive one or more flexible strands.
