Patent number: 12273217Abstract: In embodiments of an autonomous vehicle platform and safety architecture, safety managers of a safety-critical system monitor outputs of linked components of the safety-critical system. The linked components comprise at least three components, each of which is configured to produce output indicative of a same event independent from the other linked components by using different input information than the other linked components. The safety managers also compare the outputs of the linked components to determine whether each output indicates the occurrence of a same event. When the output of one linked component does not indicate the occurrence of an event that is indicated by the outputs of the other linked components, the safety managers identify the one linked component as having failed. Based on this, the outputs of the other linked components are used to carry out operations of the safety-critical system without using the output of the failed component.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2023Date of Patent: April 8, 2025Assignee: VAY TECHNOLOGY GMBHInventors: Joshua John Hartung, Peter Brink, Jonathan Lamb, David Paul Miller

Publication number: 20240269406Abstract: An emergency ventilation system ventilates a patient and includes a chamber housing defining a breathing chamber; a piston; and a motor operably connected to the piston. The motor applies an exhalation force to move the piston in an exhalation direction applies an inhalation force to move the piston in an inhalation direction. The piston increases air in the breathing chamber as the exhalation force is applied and decreases air in the breathing chamber as the inhalation force is applied. An exhalation check valve allows airflow from the air source to the breathing chamber and not to allow airflow from the breathing chamber to the air source as the inhalation force is applied. An inhalation check valve allows airflow from the breathing chamber to the air output and not to allow airflow from the air output to the breathing chamber as the exhalation force is applied.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Applicant: Ator Labs, Inc.Inventors: Robert Nickell Moran, Christopher Whittle, Francisco Hernandez, David Cowgill, Sieggy Bennicoff-Yundt, Joshua Lamb

Patent number: 11063997Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for efficiently representing manifests and playlists for media presentations. Some media streaming protocols include repetition syntax by which a sequence of media segments having the same duration can be represented with a single entry. A pattern syntax is introduced by which repeating patterns of segment durations in a cycle may be represented in manifests and playlists.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2019Date of Patent: July 13, 2021Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Mairo Pedrini, Kyle Bradley Koceski, Joshua Lamb, Yongjun Wu, Parminder Singh, Michael Coleman, Nicolas Weil

Publication number: 20200280599Abstract: A video authoring system has an authoring computing device that generates a visual synchronization layout, via a graphical user interface without user-based inputting of computer executable code, for a video with a time duration and for content to be added to the video at one or more time-based positions within the video. The video authoring system also has a processor, in operable communication with the authoring computing device, that sends data associated with the visual synchronization layout to a remote server that automatically generates a manifest based on the data associated with the visual synchronization layout. The manifest is computer executable code that is executed by a media player at a computing device so that the media player plays the video in synchronization with the content.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 19, 2020Publication date: September 3, 2020Inventors: Joshua Lamb, Steven E.
