    Abstract: A brake actuator control system for a vehicle includes: a maximum load module configured to determine maximum clamping loads of brake actuators, respectively, of the vehicle, the brake actuators configured to, independently of each other, slow rotation of wheels, respectively, of the vehicle; a limit module configured to set a load limit to a minimum one of the maximum clamping loads of the brake actuators; a target load module configured to limit a target load for the brake actuators to less than or equal to the load limit; and a power control module configured to apply power to electric motors of the brake actuators, respectively, based on the target load.

    Abstract: A braking system includes brake circuits and a brake stability module. The brake circuits are configured to be independently activated and deactivated and when activated apply braking force at respective wheels of a vehicle. The braking stability module is configured to i) detect a failure with a first one of the brake circuits of a first axle of the vehicle, ii) lock or adjust an amount of engagement of a differential of the first axle of the vehicle to distribute brake force from a second one of the brake circuits of the first axle to one of the wheels at the first one of the brake circuits, and iii) control operation of the second one of the brake circuits to brake torque the one of the wheels at the first one of the brake circuits.

    Abstract: A system and method that act as a performance driving tool and provide feedback to a driver, such as real-time visual feedback delivered via an augmented reality device. According to one embodiment, the performance driving system gathers pertinent vehicle information and driver information (e.g., the direction of the driver's gaze as determined by a wearable head-mounted-display (HMD)) and uses these inputs to generate real-time visual feedback in the form of virtual driving lines and other driving recommendations. These driving recommendations can be presented to the driver via an augmented reality device, such as a heads-up-display (HUD), where the virtual driving lines are projected onto the vehicle windshield so that they are superimposed on top of the actual road surface seen by the driver and can show the driver a suggested line or path to take. Other driving recommendations, like braking, acceleration, steering and shifting suggestions, can also be made.
