  • Patent number: 12196046
Abstract: A roller sub for reducing torque along a downhole tool string. The roller sub defines a tubular body comprising an elongated shaft. The elongated shaft defines a bore, with the bore receiving an electrical wire or data cable therein. The tubular body also comprises first threads at the first end for engaging a first wellbore tool, and second threads at the opposing second end for engaging a second wellbore tool. The roller sub further comprises a roller body that is releasably clamped onto the elongated shaft of the cylindrical body between a first shoulder and a second shoulder. The roller body defines a second outer diameter that is greater than the first outer diameter and comprises at least two bearing members that permit relative rotational movement between the roller body and the elongated shaft.

  • Publication number: 20240352834
Abstract: A bearing member assembly used in a wellbore completion operation. The bearing member assembly first comprises a tubular sub. The tubular sub has a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and connection threads residing at each of the first and second ends. The bearing member assembly also comprises an internal bore, and a tapered shoulder residing along the internal bore proximate the second end. The tapered shoulder defines an angle relative to the central axis of the internal bore. The bearing member assembly also comprises a bearing member. The bearing member has a tubular support body wherein an inner diameter forms a bore and an outer diameter serves as a race. A plurality of roller bearings are disposed along the race, engaging the tapered shoulder to serve as a grounding path. A cage secures the roller bearings against the race. A method of grounding a perforating gun assembly is also provided herein.

  • Publication number: 20240352832
Abstract: A tandem sub for a perforating gun assembly. The perforating gun assembly is used in a wellbore completion operation. The tandem sub first comprises a tubular body. The tubular body has a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and connection threads residing at each of the first and second ends. The tubular body has an internal bore, and tapered shoulders residing along the internal bore proximate each end. Each tapered shoulder defines an angle relative to the central axis of the internal bore. Further, each tapered shoulder forms a race dimensioned and configured to receive roller bearings. The roller bearings may be part of a grounding path. A cage secures the roller bearings against the race.

  • Publication number: 20240229569
Abstract: A roller sub for reducing torque along a downhole tool string. The roller sub defines a tubular body comprising an elongated shaft having both a first and second end. The elongated shaft defines a bore extending between the first and second ends, with the bore receiving an electrical wire or data cable therein. A method of running a tool string such as a perforating gun assembly into a wellbore using the roller sub is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20240183252
Abstract: A perforating gun system. The perforating gun system comprises a gun barrel housing, and a pair of tandem subs threadedly connected to the gun barrel housing at opposing ends. The perforating gun system also includes a rail. The rail defines an elongated frame having a plurality of receptacles, wherein each receptacle is configured to receive a shaped charge. A ballast is connected to each of opposing ends of the rail. Each ballast supports a bearing member which interfaces with a central bore of a respective tandem sub. In this manner, relative rotation is provided between the rail and the first and second tandem subs. A method of orienting shots in a perforating gun assembly is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20190059240
Abstract: A modular plant growth and support fencing assembly and method for supporting plant extremities during growth of the plants which provides the dual function of containing a plant growth medium in a plant tray; and supporting the plant upper extremities through a framework of intersecting legs and ribs arranged at different heights. The plant tray contains soil growth medium, liquids, and plants. The tray has a generally convex bottom surface that causes the liquid to flow towards multiple drain holes at the depressed perimeter region. A pattern of cuboids and channels on the bottom surface of the tray facilitate drainage of liquid and enhance oxygenation of roots. A fence mounts above the plant tray that has intersecting legs, ribs, and connectors at predetermined levels along the height of the legs to fasten the plant upper extremities, i.e., stem, bud, and other parts of plant growing above the tray.

  • Publication number: 20180206421
Abstract: An all in one segregated hydroponic assembly plants to be grown in a fluid nutrient that is segregated and sealed in a reservoir, where the fluid is controllably applied on a plant housing that supports plant growth. A reservoir contains the fluid nutrient. The reservoir has a sloped base panel to enable discharge excess of fluid. A plant housing provides a floor for supporting hydroponic plant growth. The plant housing is disposed in a spaced-apart, coplanar relationship with the reservoir to seal the fluid nutrient in the reservoir and protect fluid nutrient from contamination and evaporation. The floor of plant housing has a square-shaped geometric pattern that forms groove to enhance flow of fluid, aeration, and provides space for roots to expand.
