  • Patent number: 12002025
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards implementing a video monetization service into a social networking platform to form an information marketplace, enabling users to monetize information and digital content. A creator of a monetized video session can configure the monetized video session to his/her user preference and invite as many participants, e.g., all associations, a limited group of associations, including just one association, or other social media users in general. The associations may be followers, circles, friends, connections, or any other form of association.

Inventors: Joshua Parker, Rasheed Murray, Anthony Michael Duncan, Jr.
  • Patent number: 11814625
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the selection of DNA aptamers that prevent aggregation, or fibrilization of alpha-synuclein protein. The aptamers described herein are of use as a therapeutic tool to prevent protein aggregation in neurodegenerative disease.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 22, 2018
Date of Patent: November 14, 2023
    Assignee: Carleton University
Inventors: Maria Cynthia Derosa, Matthew Richard Holahan, Erin Marie McConnell, Katelyn Victoria Ventura, Joshua Parker Callahan, Vernon Harold Daniel Hunt
  • Publication number: 20230181799
Abstract: The invention provides method of guiding unidirectional movement of a cell comprising exposing the cell to a surface comprising an asymmetric, three-dimensional pattern of one or a plurality of topographical elements for a time period sufficient to bias actin polymerization within the cell. The invention also provides methods of inducing directional movement of a cell, and methods of harnessing an actin wave within a cell. In addition, the invention provides compositions comprising a contact side, wherein at least a portion of the contact side comprises a cell contact portion comprising an asymmetric, three-dimensional pattern of one or a plurality of topographical elements, and methods of inducing healing of a wound of a subject comprising contacting the wound with the composition.

  • Patent number: 9908167
Abstract: A tolerance ring suitable for use in applications such as an actuator assembly for a disk drive, is disclosed. The tolerance ring may be fabricated by steps including stamping a sheet metal section from a strip of sheet metal that has first and second edges that are parallel to a strip axis. A leading axial edge may be rounded from an inner major face and from an outer major face. A plurality of protrusions may be formed from the first major face. The sheet metal section may be bent into a substantially cylindrical shape having a central axis that is normal to the strip axis.
