Patent number: 10257199Abstract: A privacy management system (PMS) is disclosed for a Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) or other user to use in monitoring and/or controlling in realtime the flow of data (e.g., outflow) about the user and his/her online experience. The PMS may employ pattern recognition software to evaluate analytics data and potentially block private information from being sent within the analytics data. The PMS may provide a dashboard displaying a whitelist and/or blacklist indicating what destinations/sources are blocked or allowed as well as private information settings indicating what types of private information should be blocked. The PMS includes browser-client scripting code and may also include a PMS-certified verification icon and/or lock and unlock icons for display on webpages being monitored/controlled in realtime by the PMS.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2018Date of Patent: April 9, 2019Assignee: Ensighten, Inc.Inventors: Joshua C. Goodwin, Joshua R. Manion

Publication number: 20170132182Abstract: A tag/content management system delivers customized content and/or program instructions to a user terminal. The system may deliver several groups of program executable instructions, including instructions that are global to all web domains controlled by a client server and those that are specific to a web page/group of web pages. The program instructions and/or content may also be delivered to the user terminal based on the evaluation of one or more conditions, including those related to the location of the user terminal, various HTTP header fields, the presence of specific HTML objects in a web page accessed by the user terminal, and the screen resolution of the user terminal, among other things.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2016Publication date: May 11, 2017Inventors: Joshua R. Manion, Joshua C. Goodwin, William M. Latimer

Publication number: 20170091077Abstract: A tag delivery network is disclosed for delivering tags to collect analytics related to use of mobile applications. The tag delivery network may include multiple servers for communicating with mobile devices executing mobile applications. The mobile applications may be any mobile application that has been recompiled with, for example, a particular line of code and a static library. A recompiled mobile application may initiate a browser when executed by a mobile device. The tag delivery network may deliver a tag container to the browser. The tag container may load a bootstrap file which in turn may load one or more rule files and code files. These files may cause the mobile device to modify an appearance of the mobile application. The modification may be performed to carry out multivariate testing (e.g., A/B testing), content swapping, optimization of the mobile application, or personalization of the mobile application.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2016Publication date: March 30, 2017Inventors: Joshua R. Manion, Joshua C. Goodwin, Scott David Price, Miles A. Alden, Zackary Dean Ulrich, Arthur C. Yin, Jeremy P. Woska, Gautam B. Amin, Manudath Gurudatha, Jonathan David Chicquette

Patent number: 9553918Abstract: A stateful or stateless cookie operations server machine can provide real-time, actionable, user-specific tracking abilities in the collection of impressions and user interactions with a company's digital properties. The client-side code (e.g., in a web browser) may request an element configured with parameters and a hyperlink (e.g., URL) that causes parameters to be sent to a remote server. The remote server may process the parameters and perform various operations based on the parameters. Mathematical and/or other operations may be performed using the parameters. The remote server may retrieve a configuration corresponding to the request. The remote server may generate or transform content, based on the configuration. The remote server may transmit the transformed content.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2015Date of Patent: January 24, 2017Assignee: Ensighten, Inc.Inventors: Joshua R. Manion, Joshua C. Goodwin, Sam Jackson, Chris Zakharoff

Patent number: 9219787Abstract: A stateless cookie operations server machine can provide real-time, actionable, user-specific tracking abilities in the collection of impressions and user interactions with a company's digital properties. The client-side code (e.g., in a web browser) may load an image element configured with parameters and a hyperlink (e.g., URL) that causes name-value pairs to be sent as parameters, along with a cookie data file, to a remote server. The remote server may process the parameters and perform operations based on both the value and the name of the name-value pairs. Mathematical and/or other operations may be performed on the parameters and the results saved into the appropriate cookie data file. The server sends the update cookie data file and any requested content (e.g., a transparent image pixel, or other information) back to the client-side device.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2014Date of Patent: December 22, 2015Assignee: Ensighten, Inc.Inventors: Joshua R.
