  • Patent number: 10270249
Abstract: A demand side electric power supply management system is disclosed. The system comprises an islanded power system having a point of coupling to a supply grid. The islanded power system supplies a plurality of electric loads, each of which is associated with a load controller to control the maximum power demanded by that load. A measuring means associated with the point of coupling measures the total power transfer between the grid and the islanded system, and a system controller monitors the measured power transfer relative to a set point and provides a control signal to a plurality of load controllers. Each load controller receives substantially the same control signal and determines the maximum power which the or each load associated with the load controller is allowed to draw from the islanded power system based on information contained in the control signal.

  • Patent number: 9847678
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for wireless communication with a system of a vehicle are provided. One implementation includes an apparatus for wireless communication with a system of a vehicle. The apparatus comprises a first antenna configured to receive a signal from the system of the vehicle. The apparatus comprises a processor configured to determine whether the first antenna is saturated by an external magnetic field. The processor is further configured to cause the at least one of the first antenna or a second antenna to transmit a frame indicating that the first antenna is saturated by the external magnetic field in response to determining that the first antenna is saturated. The frame is a periodic frame. The processor is further configured to transmit an identification frame identifying the apparatus in response to receiving a trigger signal. A wireless power transmitter is configured to reduce or discontinue wireless power transmission in response to receiving the frame.

  • Patent number: 8578348
Abstract: A cost oriented profiler (COP) mechanism that analyzes the behavior of input application source code with regard to the software total cost of ownership (TCO). The cost analysis tool provided by the mechanism analyzes the behavior of the source code and generates a cost report with indications as to the portions of the source code that have the most impact on the TCO of the application. Based on simulations and by comparing multiple versions of the source code, the COP mechanism determines if a particular change to the source code will increase or decrease software TCO. Behavior analysis, including static and dynamic analysis of the source code, is used to generate one or more code recommendations to reduce the TCO.
