  • Publication number: 20250128507
Abstract: A method for metal bonding includes providing at least two metal sheet assemblies wherein each metal sheet assembly includes at least one frame member and a flat metal sheet. Each frame member is placed onto the flat metal sheet to form a metal sheet assembly. The metal sheet assemblies are stacked upon one another to form a sheet stack, and the sheet stack is autoclaved to allow for bonding to occur between the flat metal sheet and the frame member of each metal sheet assembly. The sheet stack is removed from the autoclave and each metal sheet assembly is unstacked from the sheet stack. Each bonded metal sheet assembly then undergoes a roll forming process to provide at a curved metal sheet assembly.

  • Publication number: 20250108923
Abstract: Additively manufactured aircraft vent structures are provided with a one-piece frame which includes a substantially planar face plate defining a longitudinally elongate vent opening and a series of fixed-position vanes unitarily joined to the planar face plate which extend latitudinally across the vent opening. Each of the vanes may be curvilinear and provided such that unidirectional venting is established or may be in a V-shaped configuration of vane pairs such that multidirectional venting is established. Alternatively or additionally, the vanes may have a widthwise dimension between leading and trailing edges thereof such that the trailing edges of each vane terminally extends at least to a latitudinal plane defined by a leading edge of an immediately adjacent one of the vanes.

  • Patent number: 11583976
Abstract: A shot-peen forming system includes a shot-sourcing chamber and a plurality of conduits, each having a first end and a second end. The first ends are coupled to the shot-sourcing chamber for receiving a portion of shot. A plurality of peen-forming jets are coupled to the second end of a respective one of the plurality of conduits. The plurality of jets are each adapted to fire shot in one of a plurality of predetermined directions to simultaneously deliver shot to a workpiece. An omnidirectional shot peening delivery system includes a plurality of nozzles positioned for shot peening from a plurality of angles, respectively. A shot distributor is adapted to receive shot through an inlet and distribute shot to the plurality of nozzles, and a workpiece holder is adapted to constrain a workpiece for receiving shot from the plurality of nozzles simultaneously to provide conformity during shot-peen forming.

  • Patent number: 8371626
Abstract: Latch systems for use in aircraft are disclosed. One system includes a frame, a pin at least partially inside frame, an interface portion, and a link. Pin has proximal and distal ends and is slidable between extended and retracted positions. Interface portion is pivotable between open and closed positions and has a handle for receiving a force to move interface portion to open and closed positions. Link is pivotably coupled to pin and interface portion such that pin is at extended position while interface portion is at closed position and pin is at retracted position while interface portion is at open position. Interface portion has an impact face in line with pin when interface portion is at closed position to ensure pin does not reach retracted position while interface portion is at closed position.
