  • Patent number: 11155744
Abstract: A method of reducing fluid loss includes pumping a wellbore fluid including resin coated solid particulate into a wellbore having fractures therein, the resin coated solid particulate forming a substantially impermeable plug in the fractures. A method of drilling a wellbore includes drilling a wellbore through a formation using a first wellbore fluid; and upon experiencing a fluid loss event to the formation, pumping a second wellbore fluid including resin coated solid particulates into the wellbore.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 18, 2017
Date of Patent: October 26, 2021
    Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
    Inventors: Aaron Blue, Joshua Sheldon
  • Patent number: 10676661
Abstract: Fluid compositions including a base fluid and at least one granular hemicellulose material. The base fluid may be an oleaginous fluid or a non-oleaginous fluid. The granular hemicellulose material may have a cumulative particle size distribution D90 of about 4 mm or less and D10 of about 1 mm or greater, or D90 of 2.5 mm or less and D10 of about 1.5 mm or greater, or even D90 of about 3.8 mm or less, and D10 of about 2.4 mm or greater. The granular hemicellulose materials useful may have an average aspect ratio equal to or less than about 5:1, an average aspect ratio equal to or less than about 2:1, or even an average aspect ratio is about 1:1. The granular hemicellulose materials have hemicellulose in an amount from about 10% to about 50% by weight, cellulose in an amount from about 30% to about 50% by weight, and lignin in an amount from about 5% to about 35% by weight.

  • Patent number: 10662368
Abstract: A wellbore fluid may include a base fluid and milled polymeric fibers, wherein the base fluid is an oil-based fluid or an aqueous-based fluid, and wherein the milled polymeric fibers may have a length distribution in which the lowest point in the length distribution is up to about 50% of the average fiber length.

  • Patent number: 9790692
Abstract: A joint compound tool including a handle having a first end and a second end where a blade portion is attached to the first end and a mixing member is attached to the second end. The handle, the blade portion and the mixing member each have substantially the same thickness where the mixing member is used to mix joint compound and the blade is used to apply the joint compound to a surface.

  • Patent number: 9567758
Abstract: A joint compound tool including a body having a first end, an opposing second end and a handle. A blade portion is attached to the first end of the body and a lid opener is movably attached to the second end of the body, where the lid opener is movable between a storage position adjacent to the handle and an operative position away from the handle.
