Abstract: In one embodiment, a chew-proof animal collar is provided. The collar includes a collar body portion having two or more lengths of wire rope that have a first end with a swaged termination that is attached to a fastener and a second end with a swaged termination that is attached to an acceptor. The acceptor engages the fastener wherein the engagement between the acceptor and fastener is adjustable. In another embodiment, a chew-proof animal leash is provided. The leash has a leash body portion having a length of wire rope, an owner end with a swaged termination that is attached to a carabiner, wherein the carabiner is attached to a handle, and an animal end wherein the animal end has a swaged termination that is attached to a swiveled snap-hook.
