    Abstract: A pliers includes a first member having a first head and a first handle, and a second member having a second head and a second handle. Each of the handles includes a recessed grip area bounded by a forward lip and a rear lip. The rear lip has a cross-sectional area not greater than a cross-sectional area of a portion of the handle adjacent the rear lip and opposite the grip area. The pliers also includes a first grip positioned on the grip area of the first handle and a second grip positioned on the grip area of the second handle.
