  • Publication number: 20170325059
Abstract: A tracking device can securely communicate with a secondary device by generating a hash value based on the identity of the tracking device. If the secondary device cannot resolve the hash value, the hash value can be provided to a tracking server, such as a cloud server, for resolving the hash value. Upon resolving the hash value, the tracking server can store a location of the tracking device in association with the identity of the tracking device. To preserve power, the secondary device can activate location-detection functionality (such as a GPS receive) only in response to the detection of movement of the tracking device, can obtain location information, and can de-activate the location-detection functionality upon providing the location information to the tracking server. The tracking server can associate one or both of a previous location and the current location information based on movement of the tracking device.

  • Patent number: 9490919
Abstract: A coexistence system including a first transceiver module, an interface, a second transceiver module, and an arbitration module. The first transceiver module, in a first network device, is configured to generate at least one first request signal. The first transceiver module operates according to a first wireless communication standard. The at least one first request signal requests transmission or reception for the first transceiver module. The interface is configured to generate a first priority signal based on the at least one first request signal. The first priority signal indicates a first priority level of first data signals corresponding to the at least one first request signal. The second transceiver module, in the first network device, is configured to (i) generate at least one second request signal, and (ii) generate a second priority signal. • Publication number: 20160285873
Abstract: A first device having a first public key receives an identifier associated with a second device, and a second public key associated with the second device. The first device sends the identifier to the second device. The first device authenticates the second device using the first public key and the second public key. The first device receives a notification from the second device that the identifier sent to the second device corresponds to the second public key. The first device is used to enroll the second device in a first network including the first device based on receiving the notification. The first device is used to authorize a third device to enroll the second device in a second network including the first device and the third device after the second device is enrolled in the first network.

  • Publication number: 20160212707
Abstract: A first network device including first and second transceiver modules. The first transceiver module: during a first downlink period, transmits an uplink indication (UI) signal; and during an uplink period and subsequent to transmitting the UI signal, transmits a first data signal. The UI signal indicates when the first data signal is transmitted. The second transceiver module, prior to transmission of the UI signal, transmits a notice signal that indicates to a second network device not to transmit data to the second transceiver module during a second downlink period. The second downlink period is subsequent to an unused portion of the uplink period. The second transceiver module: transitions to a power save mode prior to transmission of the first data signal; and transmits a second data signal from the first network device based on the UI signal, subsequent to transmission of the first data signal, and during the unused portion.

  • Patent number: 9363249
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus are disclosed for generating one or more device identifiers based on a public key associated with a respective device. Various embodiments include condensing and/or hashing a device public key to generate the corresponding device identifier. By using the relationship between a device public key and its device identifier, public key exchanges are implemented to verify this relationship and facilitate device enrollment into one or more networks. The embodiments further describe enrolling one or more devices into networks and/or authorizing devices to enroll one more devices into networks based on public key exchanges and verification that the one or more device identifiers match the respective public keys. Embodiments for authorizing other devices describe a first device enrolling a second device in a first network and authorizing a third device to enroll the second device in a second network using an exchange of public keys and/or messages.

  • Patent number: 9319179
Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and apparatus for generating expanded code words to support error correction in a data communication system. In some aspects data to be encoded and a first subset of bits of a first bit sequence are obtained. A first combined bit sequence is generated by combining the data and the first subset of bits. A first code word is generated by applying an error correcting code to the first combined bit sequence. The first code word is combined with the first bit sequence, resulting in first encoded data that includes both first parity information and the data. The generating, applying, and combining are repeated with a second subset of bits of a second bit sequence, resulting in second encoded data that includes both second parity information and the data, the second encoded data being based on a second code word rather than the first code word.

  • Patent number: 9313804
Abstract: A coexistence system including a first transceiver module and a second transceiver module. The first transceiver module generates an uplink indication signal and, subsequent to a first predetermined period after having transmitted the uplink indication signal, transmits first signals from a first network device to a second network device during an uplink period. The uplink indication signal indicates the first signals are to be transmitted subsequent to the first predetermined period. The first signals and the second signals respectively conform to first and second wireless communication standards. The second transceiver module, based on the uplink indication signal, transmits: the second signals during a portion of the uplink period unused by the first transceiver module; or a signal indicating a second predetermined period. The second predetermined period indicates to the second network device not to transmit the second signals to the second transceiver module during the second predetermined period.

  • Patent number: 9155127
Abstract: A coexistence system including first and second transceiver modules and an arbitration module. The first transceiver module generates a first request signal and operates according to a first wireless communication standard. The first request signal requests transmission or reception for the first transceiver module. The second transceiver module generates a second request signal and an overlap signal and operates according to a second wireless communication standard. The second request signal requests permission for the second transceiver module to transmit or receive. The overlap signal indicates whether desensitization is expected of a frequency of the first transceiver module or a frequency of the second transceiver module. The arbitration module (i) based on the overlap signal, arbitrates the first and second request signals, and (ii) based on the arbitration of the first and second request signals, selectively connect antennas to the first and second transceiver modules in one multiple configurations.

  • Patent number: 9047599
Abstract: A wireless device including a reader to read information from a payment card and generate data. A verification module verifies whether the reader has correctly read the information. A security module securely connects the wireless device to a mobile device using a first or a second wireless communication protocol. A transmitter transmits the data and identifying information received from a user to the mobile device using the first or the second wireless communication protocol. The mobile device transmits the data and the identifying information to a payment system. A receiver at the wireless device receives from the mobile device an acknowledgement received by the mobile device from the payment system, indicating whether the payment system has approved the data and the identifying information. An indicator on the wireless device indicates whether the reader has correctly read the information and the payment system has approved the data and the identifying information.

  • Patent number: 8989133
Abstract: A wireless device including a first transceiver to communicate according to a first schedule using a first communication protocol. The first schedule includes information of uplink and downlink slots. A second transceiver communicates according to a second schedule using a second communication protocol. The second schedule includes a first number of slots for transmitting packets. A scheduler changes, based on the first schedule, the first number of slots to a second number of slots. The second number of slots is greater than the first number of slots. A packetizer selects a packet type of a first packet for transmission from the first transceiver to a remote device. The packet type indicates that the first packet requires the second number of slots for transmission and shifts transmission of a response from the remote device to one of the downlink slots to minimize interference between communications of the first and second transceivers.
