  • Publication number: 20150344778
Abstract: There is provided a liquid crystal display device that may limit a reduction in the voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer and an increase in the ion density (ID) in the liquid crystal layer and thereby address issues of faulty display such as white missing pixels, alignment inconsistencies, and burn-in. The liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, which may limit a reduction in the voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer and an increase in the ion density (ID) in the liquid crystal layer and thereby reduce the risk of faulty display such as burn-in, can be suitably used, in particular, as an IPS-mode or FFS-mode liquid crystal display device for active-matrix driving and may also be used as a liquid crystal display device for liquid crystal display televisions, monitors, mobile phones, smart phones, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20150316815
Abstract: There is provided a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing a decrease in voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer and an increase in ion density (ID) and resolving the problem of display defects such as white spots, alignment unevenness, image sticking, and the like. The liquid crystal display device prevents a decrease in voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer and an increase in on density (ID) and suppresses the occurrence of display defects such as image sticking, and the like. The liquid crystal display device is useful for an IPS-mode or FES-mode liquid crystal display device for active matrix driving. The application of the device can include liquid crystal TVs, monitors, cellular phones, smart phones, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20150232758
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device that prevents a decrease in the voltage holding ratio (VHR) and an increase in the ion density (ID) in the liquid crystal layer, and resolves the problems of display defects, such as white streaks, variations in alignment, and image sticking. Since a liquid crystal display device according to the present invention has a feature of preventing a decrease in the voltage holding ratio (VHR) and an increase in the ion density (ID) in the liquid crystal layer, and suppressing the occurrence of display defects such as image sticking, the liquid crystal display device is particularly useful for active matrix driving liquid crystal display devices with an IPS mode or an FFS mode and can be applied to liquid crystal display devices such as liquid crystal televisions, monitors, cellular phones, and smart phones.

  • Publication number: 20150159089
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a liquid crystal composition having a positive ??, the liquid crystal composition also having a liquid crystal phase in a wide temperature range, a good resistance to resolution at low temperature, an excellent adaptability to an ODF process, a high specific resistance and voltage holding ratio, and stability to heat and light. In order to achieve this object, a liquid crystal composition containing compounds represented by Formulae (i) and (ii) is provided. (where Ri1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having 2 to 5 carbon atoms).

  • Patent number: 8980384
Abstract: A liquid crystal composition of the present invention has a liquid phase over a wide temperature range, low viscosity, good solubility at a low temperature, high resistivity and voltage holding ratio, and stability to heat and light, and can thus provide, in high yield, a liquid crystal display device having good display quality and causing little display defects such as image sticking, dropping marks, and the like. A liquid crystal display device using the liquid crystal composition of the present invention is useful, particularly useful for a liquid crystal display device for active matrix driving, because both fast response and suppression of display defects are achieved, and the liquid crystal display device can be applied to a liquid crystal display device for a VA mode, a PSVA mode, or a TN mode.

  • Publication number: 20150045495
Abstract: There is provided a method for producing a pigment composition which contains a polymer-treated pigment (D) containing an azo lake pigment (A) and an aqueous polymer (C) precipitated with a polyvalent metal salt (B) and also contains a polymer (F) obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable unsaturated monomer (E) in the presence of the polymer-treated pigment (D). The method includes: synthesizing an azo dye by coupling a coupler component with a diazo component obtained by diazotizing an aromatic amine; and preparing the polymer-treated pigment (D). The method also includes producing the polymer (F) by polymerizing the polymerizable unsaturated monomer (E) in the presence of the polymer-treated pigment (D) to coat the polymer-treated pigment (D) with the polymer (F).
