  • Patent number: 9255844
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for optical measurement of a target, wherein the target is illuminated, either actively illuminated, reflecting ambient light, or self illuminating, and a measurement radiation beam received from the target or through it is detected. The measurement system has optical fibers for guiding radiation from/to target positions. Radiation of several target positions is simultaneously filtered by a Fabry-Perot interferometer and detected by a row detector, for example.

  • Patent number: 8159668
Abstract: An optical or infrared spectrometer is suitable for on-line measurements for industrial, agricultural, field, commercial and other applications. Optical spectrometers are very useful for various analytical measurements. On-line operation is needed for obtaining real-time information, which is useful e.g. for process automation and quality control needs. The invention is based on optical design optimized for measuring moving samples at a distance and includes a light guide for signal homogenization, a linear variable filter for defining multiple measurement wavelengths as well as a linear detector array for detecting optical signals relating to the different wavelengths. There is an element for cooling and stabilizing the operating temperature of both the linear detector array and the linear variable filter, while the spectrometer is operating in variable environmental conditions.

  • Patent number: 6870619
Abstract: An entrance slit of the spectrometer is illuminated with optical radiation. An optical component images the entrance slit to an optical modulator by the optical radiation and disperses the optical radiation into a spectrum. The spectrum is modulated by the optical modulator The optical component composes spectral non-dispersive measurement radiation of the spectrum and images the entrance slit included in the measurement radiation to an exit slit which may be the same one as the exit slit or a different one. Measurement radiation is detected from the entrance slit with a detector, which converts the measurement radiation into an electrical measurement signal.

  • Patent number: 6075595
Abstract: The present invention concerns an LED spectrometer operating without moving parts according to the sweep principle, and appropriate to serve as a structural component in many kinds of spectroscopic concentration analyzers. The design of the invention affords the advantage that, even at its minimum, the optical power of the LED spectrometer of the invention is about fivefold compared with the designs of prior art. Furthermore, improvement of the efficiency of the LED radiation source and of that of the optics has brought a multiple augmentation in power to the wavelength spectrum sent out by the radiation source. In the design of the invention, concentrators (6) of non-imaging type are used to collimate the wavelength spectrum emitted by the LEDs (3).

  • Patent number: 5029245
Abstract: The present invention concerns a procedure for controlling a radiation source which has been implemented with the aid of light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, from the radiation produced by them being separated the desired wavelength range, of which the intensity is controlled or maintained constant. The radiation source is implemented by means of a LED row (2) formed of semiconductor chips, or LED elements (21, 22, 23, . . . , 26), from the radiation of which is separated a wavelength range (.DELTA..lambda..sub.1, .DELTA..lambda..sub.2, . . . ) depending on the location of the LED element in said arrays with an optical means dispersing the radiation to a spectrum, and the intensity of the radiation in this wavelength range, or of the output radiation, is controlled or maintained constant by observing the intensity thereof and regulating with its aid the current passing through the respective LED element.
