  • Patent number: 9697957
Abstract: An integrable electrochemical capacitor and methods for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The electrochemical capacitor comprises a first electrode comprising a first rigid piece having a first porous portion, a second electrode comprising a second rigid piece having a second porous portion, and an electrolyte in contact with the first porous portion and the second porous portion. The structure allows the electrochemical capacitor to be manufactured without a separator film between the electrodes and is compatible with semiconductor manufacturing technologies. The electrochemical capacitor can also be manufactured within a SOI layer 8.

  • Patent number: 9620727
Abstract: This document describes graphene-containing platelets and methods of exfoliating graphene from a surface. The method comprises facilitating exfoliation by treatment with proteins. In an embodiment, the proteins adhere to the surface of graphene and then the produced platelets may contain a graphene layer and a protein layer on the surface of the graphene layer. Electronic devices containing such platelets are also described.

  • Publication number: 20120058344
Abstract: This document describes a method of producing an electronic device comprising biological and electrical materials and an interface between the biological and electrical materials. The method utilizes self-assembly of proteins (11) at a desired location when producing the electronic device. The document also describes electronic devices that include a protein layer as a structural part thereof. The protein layers of the electronic devices containing hydrophobin proteins are also presented. According to some embodiment, the electronic devices also include a layer of graphene (12) in contact with the proteins (11).

  • Publication number: 20090200707
Abstract: The present invention relates to fabrication of graphene structures having a predefined pattern. The invention provides a new method that comprises obtaining a body of highly oriented graphite (61) and patterning at least a surface layer of the body by removing the substance of the body outside the predefined pattern. Thereafter, the method comprises stamping a graphene structure (65) on the substrate (62) by pressing the patterned surface layer of the body (61) against the substrate (62). The invention provides also a stamp for the fabrication method.

  • Publication number: 20080220159
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of forming an ordered structure of nanoparticles or microparticles in a well utilizing capillary action. We have discovered that it is possible to achieve capillary transport of particles also by means of uncovered capillary channels that abut on a controlled atmosphere and provided a method of forming an ordered structure of particles in a well by bringing the particles into the well through a capillary channel that is partly defined by a controlled atmosphere.
