Abstract: A method, network entity, system, electronic device and computer program product for backing up and restoring data are provided. More specifically, a means for distributing responsibility for providing backup and restore services to multiple service providers is provided. In particular, in lieu of storing actual backup data (i.e., copies of all data stored on an electronic device) to one or more servers used exclusively for storing backup data, one or more provisioning files, which describe the data and where and how it can be found (e.g., the original source of the data), may alternatively be created and stored on the Backup and Restore Server. When it becomes necessary to restore previously installed data to the device, the Backup and Restore Server may access the provisioning file(s) and use it to fetch and install the data.

Abstract: A method and device are disclosed for reporting capability of a mobile device, in order to improve experiences of the user of the mobile device. This capability reporting is accomplished by a web service that makes available a device profile from a device profile repository located within the mobile device. The web service utilizes reverse hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) binding for simple object access protocol (SOAP). Enhanced content is subsequently received at the mobile device, such as content in an improved format, and the enhanced content is based at least partly upon the capability of the mobile device disclosed by the web service. If a characteristic of the mobile device changes, thereby causing a modification of the capability of the mobile device for accepting a type of enhanced content, an update signal is sent to the device profile. The device profile is a user agent profile or variation thereof.

Abstract: There is provided a method of modifying parameters of a user terminal in a radio system and radio system. The method comprises the step of generating a USSD (Unstructured Supplementary. Service Data) message comprising data relating to parameters of the user terminal. The method further comprises the steps of transmitting the USSD message from the user terminal to a home location register of the radio system, forwarding the received USSD message from the home location register via a USSD gateway to an application server, and modifying the parameters of the user terminal based on the data relating to the parameters of the user terminal.
