  • Publication number: 20230235629
Abstract: A downhole tool includes an outer, intermediate and inner tubular bodies. The intermediate tubular body has vanes and female splines. The inner tubular body in the intermediate tubular body includes a load nut and male splines that rotationally couple with the female splines to allow relative axial movement between the inner tubular body and the intermediate tubular body. The male and female splines can rotate inside the outer tubular body for an angle determined by movement of the vanes between longitudinal ribs in the outer tubular body. The inner tubular body has an extended position. When weight is applied on the drill bit (WOB), the inner tubular body has a retracted position where it is pushed inward to compress springs. This causes the inner tubular body and the intermediate tubular body to rotate for a selected angle relative to the outer tubular body.

  • Patent number: 11365602
Abstract: A Programmable plug system for accessing and isolating formations during hydraulic fracturing, consisting of a Programmable Plug and plurality of Sliding Sleeve Valves installed in the casing string of a wellbore, wherein Programmable Plug travels, downwards or upwards through the casing and Sliding Sleeve Valves, wherein during its travel the Programmable Plug detects and counts each sleeve using on-board sensors, electronics and software and wherein the Programmable Plug utilizes detected information to locate, activate and engage itself into the Sliding Sleeve Valves, one at a time, from the top or from the bottom, without locking in, according to programmed sequence (to open, close or bypass) stored in the on-board memory.

  • Patent number: 11142952
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for a clutch for a well string can include a tubular member, a mandrel, a top sub and a bottom sub. A sleeve can be located between the tubular member and the mandrel. The sleeve has an engaged position wherein an inner sleeve spline is coupled to the mandrel spline, and a disengaged position wherein the inner sleeve spline is uncoupled from the mandrel spline. The sleeve has an outer sleeve spline that is coupled to the tubular spline in the engaged position and the disengaged position. A spring in the tubular member can bias the sleeve from one position to another position. The sleeve can be configured to be moved between the positions to overcome the spring bias.

  • Publication number: 20200308930
Abstract: Programmable plug system for accessing and isolating formations during hydraulic fracturing, consisting of a Programmable Plug and plurality of Sliding Sleeve Valves installed in the casing string of a wellbore wherein Programmable Plug travels down the casing string, through the casing and Sliding Sleeve Valves wherein during its passage the Programmable Plug recognizes and counts each sleeve using on-board sensors, electronics and software and wherein the Programmable Plug utilizes recognition information to locate, activate and set itself into the Sliding Sleeve Valve according to programmed sequence stored in the on-board memory wherein this activation and setting of the Programmable Plug forms physical coupling between Programmable Plug and allows the Programmable Plug to engage and actuate the Sliding Sleeve and wherein applying the pressure from the surface causes opening of the Sliding Sleeve Valve, wherein this opening provides access to the zone adjacent to the Sliding Sleeve Valve while sealing and

  • Patent number: 9073588
Abstract: The present invention includes a load bearing mid-section weldment connected between a pair of telescoping incremental stepper assemblies to create a clearance space beneath the load bearing mid-section weldment and the telescoping incremental stepper assemblies thereby allowing the heavy machinery substructure to move and work over ground obstructions. Each telescoping incremental stepper assembly includes a bridge weldment connected between a pair of telescoping legs. Each telescoping leg includes at least one pair of nested leg sections and a linear actuator to adjust the length of the telescoping leg. Each telescoping leg further includes a fixed foot and an articulating pad assembly. The articulating pad assembly is configured to alternatively lift the foot and itself from the ground and moves the foot and itself relative to one another to move the heavy machinery substructure in incremental steps over the ground and any obstructions.
