  • Patent number: 9314245
Abstract: Various exemplary surgical fasteners are provided, and methods and devices are provided for deploying a surgical fastener. In general, the methods and devices allow a surgical fastener to be deployed to secure tissue to bone. In one embodiment, a surgical fastener can be configured to move between a first linear or compressed configuration, in which the fastener can have a first maximum diameter, and a second bent or expanded configuration, in which the fastener can have a second maximum diameter greater than the first maximum diameter. A delivery device can be configured to advance the fastener through tissue and into bone to attach the tissue to the bone. The delivery device can be configured to maintain the fastener in the compressed configuration such that when the fastener is released from the delivery device, the fastener can be configured to self-expand from the compressed configuration to the expanded configuration.

  • Patent number: 9314565
Abstract: Injector systems which include a syringe and a powered injector to inject a fluid into a patient are described. The powered injector includes a drive member, an energy source, at least one sensor for detecting energy from the energy source, and at least one contact member axially movable in the injector and in communication with the sensor. The syringe includes at least one indicator positioned at a predetermined position, such as on a rear surface of an attachment flange, which may transmit or reflect energy from the energy source to the sensor. The contact member may contact and be moved by the indicator when the syringe is attached to the powered injector, so that the energy detected by the sensor may be determined by the position of the indicator. The position of the indicator thereby provides information about the syringe configuration.

  • Publication number: 20160090216
Abstract: An invertible segmented consumption container that inverts to allow for facilitated cleaning of an inner surface. A top section of the container comprises of a rigid material that separates from a bottom section. The top section is operable to engage a lid for containing a liquid. The bottom section is operable to retain the liquid for consumption. The bottom section is comprised of a flexible material. The invertibility of the bottom section creates access to the inner surface for facilitated cleaning. When the rigid top section separates from the flexible bottom section, the bottom section may invert into itself. A rigid collar joins the top section with the bottom section, and provides a perimeter framework for drinking the liquid. The bottom section is also collapsible to provide compact storage and portability. A seal facilitating structure, receiver and notch forms to provide a leak resistant sealed container.
