    Abstract: An active GPS tracking system and method includes a user setting interface for receiving a reporting distance, a distance trigger module, a GPS module and a wireless communication module. The distance trigger module calculates a moving distance of the active GPS tracking system, and generates and sends an interrupt signals to the GPS module to make it enter a working mode when the moving distance is greater than or equal to the reporting distance. Then, the GPS module determines a current position of the active GPS tracking system and determines whether an actual displacement is greater than or equal to the reporting distance to determine if reporting the current position. If the actual displacement is greater than or equal to the reporting distance, the wireless communication module receives the current position from the GPS module, and reports to a monitor center.

The processor directly retrieves the outgoing digital sound data from the memory and converts the outgoing digital sound data into packets to be transmitted to the communication network.

The memory stores the communication mode and a phone book, wherein the phone book includes a plurality of mobile phone numbers, a plurality of WLAN phone addresses, mapping relationships between the plurality of mobile phone numbers and the plurality of WLAN phone addresses, and statuses of dual-mode phones corresponding to the plurality of WLAN phone addresses. The user interface receives an input phone number. The processing module further determines if the input phone number is a mobile phone number, determines if the mobile phone number has a mapping WLAN phone address, and calls the mapping WLAN phone address via the WLAN module.

The photovoltaic module buffers solar power in the super capacitor. The comparator compares voltage of the super capacitor and a reference voltage and outputs a control signal according to the comparison. The SPDT switch selects either the super capacitor or the battery power source to supply power to the mobile phone according to the control signal.

The processor determines if the input is a sliding input and a moving direction of the sliding input according to the interrupt signals generated by the plurality of interrupt pins.
