Abstract: A steam home appliance and a control method thereof are disclosed. The method for controlling a steam home appliance includes sensing a temperature of water for generating steam, determining a heating time of heating water to generate steam according to the sensed temperature, and correcting a predetermined operating time of the steam home appliance according to the determined heating time. Accordingly, the steam home appliance is convenient in use by setting a correct operating time during operation using steam.

The present invention suggests a variety of forms in which at least a component such as a motor or a main control unit in a body of the laundry machine is electrically connected to the changeable controlling unit.

Abstract: A clogging degree deciding method for a dryer, which can accurately determine a clogging degree of an air passage, even when there is an influence of external environments, is disclosed. The clogging degree deciding method includes reading information as to clogging of an air passage, and displaying a clogging degree of an exhaust duct or a clogging degree of a filter in accordance with the read clogging information. The clogging information includes an ON/OFF duty ratio of a temperature control member. The displaying step includes comparing a difference between two ON/Off duty ratios finally stored with a filter-clogging determination reference value, and determining the clogging degree of the filter, based on a result of the comparison. Accordingly, it is possible to provide the clogging degrees of the exhaust duct and filter to the user.

A controlling method includes drying laundry by supplying hot air to a drum, determining an amount of laundry based on a drying time, and supplying fine droplets of water and/or steam to the drum according to the determined amount of laundry.

Abstract: A clogging detecting method for a dryer, which can accurately determine a clogging degree of an air passage, even when there is an operation deviation of a temperature control member, is disclosed. The clogging detecting method includes determining operating characteristics of a temperature control member turning on/off in accordance with a temperature of an air passage, determining a clogging degree of the air passage in accordance with a clogging reference corresponding to the determined operating characteristics, and displaying the determined clogging degree of the air passage.

Abstract: A laundry machine having a steam generator is disclosed. A heater is controlled, such that steam generation coincides with a predetermined time period, whereby the steam supply time is enabled to be controlled with relative accuracy. If an error occurs when water is being supplied to the steam generator, then an error message is displayed such that a user may be informed of the error. If a predetermined time period has elapsed, then a pump is stopped to prevent an excessive amount of water from being supplied to the steam generator.

Abstract: A dryer, which can control the amount of heat generated from a heater in accordance with the clogging degree of an air passage, is disclosed. The dryer includes a heater for heating air passing through an air passage, the heater generating heat in a controlled amount, and a controller for controlling the amount of heat generated from the heater in accordance with a clogging degree of the air passage. Since the amount of generate heat is controlled in accordance with the clogging degree of the air passage, it is possible to achieve an enhancement in power consumption efficiency.
