A display apparatus according to an embodiment includes a display configured to display a content image; a communicator configured to receive a camera image captured by the display; and a controller configured to compare the content image and the camera image using a pixel value of the content image and a pixel value of the camera image, and determine whether the content image is displayed normally on the display based on the comparison result.
