Abstract: A method of pre-browsing and customizing browsing data and a digital media device using the same are provided. The method includes following steps. In a step (a), a directory structure of a server is locally copied by recursively requesting to browse each node of the directory structure, where the directory structure has a plurality of levels, and each of the levels has at least one node. In a step (b), the step (a) is repeated on each of other servers so that the directory structures of all the servers are locally copied.

Abstract: A render, a controller, and managing methods thereof are provided. The render includes a storage unit, a playback unit, and a determination unit. The storage unit includes an instruction queue temporarily saving an instruction from the controller. According to a playback instruction from the controller, the playback unit downloads a multimedia file from a server through a network and plays the multimedia file. The determination unit receives the instruction through the network and determines whether a first controller identification information is identical to a second controller identification information corresponding to the multimedia currently played by the render. When the first controller identification information is identical to the second controller identification information, the render performs an operative action corresponding to the instruction.

Abstract: A method and a system for editing a multimedia file are provided, wherein the multimedia file provided by a server is edited and played by a client device. In the present method, the multimedia file provided by the server is downloaded and played. At least one edit operation for modifying the multimedia file is received. The edit operation is converted into a plurality of edit commands recognizable to the server. The edit commands are sent to the server to request the server to modify the multimedia file accordingly. The modified multimedia file is downloaded from the server and played again.

Abstract: A method and a system for playing a multimedia file and attached information thereof, suitable for a multimedia file play system comprising a service end and a client end are provided. In the present method, the client end sends a play request of a multimedia file to the service end. The service end searches for attached information of the multimedia file according to the received play request, creates a resource item in a description file to add a link of the attached information, creates an extended field in the resource item to add identification information of the attached information, and returns the description file to the client end. The client end identifies the attached information according to the identification information and downloads the multimedia file and the attached information thereof according to the link, so as to play the multimedia and the attached information.
