Patent number: 12236920Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for generating augmented reality sessions based on eye behavior of a user is provided. The method detects a set of eye characteristics of a user. In response to detecting the set of eye characteristics, presentation of an augmented reality session is initiated using an augmented reality device. The method detects a change to at least one eye characteristic of the set of eye characteristics of the user. In response to detecting the change, the method determines the change to the at least one eye characteristic indicates a reduced cognitive state of the user. The augmented reality state being presented to the user is modified in response to determining the change indicates the reduced cognitive state.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2020Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Robert Huntington Grant, Juan C. Lopez, Alexander DeFarlo, Zachary A. Silverstein

Publication number: 20220092492Abstract: Data of a supply chain is received. The data includes components moving through a locations at points in time. Risks are identified that relate to at least some of the locations. Likelihoods of each of the risks impacting any of the components at any of the locations at any of the points of time are calculated by simulating the risks spreading across space and time. A risk of the risks is identified as having more than a threshold likelihood of impacting at least one component at a respective location at a respective point in time. A change to the supply chain that lowers a likelihood of the risk impacting the at least one component at the respective location at the respective point in time to below the threshold likelihood is provided to a user.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2020Publication date: March 24, 2022Inventors: Zachary A. Silverstein, Juan C. Lopez

Publication number: 20220092535Abstract: Redirecting a return shipment to a buyer located along the predicted return route. Product returns are evaluated for redirection based on reason for return, purchaser qualification, and a buyer delivery location. Reduced relative shipping resources drives the redirecting action.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2020Publication date: March 24, 2022Inventors: Zachary A. Silverstein, Lisa Seacat DeLuca, Hemant Kumar Sivaswamy, Juan C. Lopez

Patent number: 11144760Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method provide for a tagging user (TU) device that determines a first location of the TU device and receives, in the first location, a selection of a real-world object from a TU who views the object through the TU device. The TU device receives, from a TU, tagging information to attach to the object, and captures descriptive attributes of the object. The descriptive attributes and the tagging information associated with the first location are stored in a tagged object database.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2019Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Robert Huntington Grant, Zachary A. Silverstein, Vyacheslav Zheltonogov, Juan C. Lopez

Patent number: 9778534Abstract: Chromatic systems and structures are presented that operate without external electrical supply, which enable changes in color or transparency of a substrate material, such as glass. Various configurations provide a mechanism to activate an oxidation-reduction reaction in a chromatic material, so as to change from transparent to opaque or from one color to another. These structures may be used in applications from windows for buildings and homes, camera lenses, automotive displays and windows, mobile device displays, and other applications where chromatic change is desired.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2014Date of Patent: October 3, 2017Assignee: POLYCEED INC.Inventors: Henry Tran, Scott Gilje, Maha Achour, Juan C. Lopez-Tonazzi, John P. Cronin, Anoop Agrawal

Patent number: 9059896Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for retrieving device information from a remote network device through a server-side network probe are provided. An operation is executed to capture data packets received over a network at a particular interface in a server computer. Device-related packets are retrieved from the captured data packets. The device-related packets may be embodied in a binary file. The binary file is converted into a human-readable file. The device information is extracted from the human-readable file. The device information may regard a network device sending the device-related packets over the network.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2010Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Arnold Ebreo, Juan C. Publication number: 20020121239Abstract: Liquid film dies for coating of substrates with thin films of fluid have substantially constant fluid path geometry fluid passages leading to fluid outlet orifices. A fluid film applicator for applying a film of a fluid onto a substrate includes a dispensing head which dispenses the fluid so that the fluid is deposited as a continuous sheet on the substrate, and a meniscus forming member that controls the thickness of the fluid in the continuous sheet. The dispensing head may include upper and lower plates with a fluid channel between, the plates being offset and positioned relative to the meniscus former. A variable contour dispensing head has movable dispensers which feed coating fluid to a common slot, and the slot can be deformed to correspond to the shape of the surface being coated.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2002Publication date: September 5, 2002Inventors: Juan C. Lopez Tonazzi, Raymond Zhang, Robert S. LeCompte
