  • Patent number: 8944098
Abstract: A valve assembly is disposed within a water supply line upstream of a water meter or other delivery location and is structured to eliminate or significantly reduce the passage of air there through to the upstream location. A valve body includes a sealing portion sealing disposed within the supply line and in interruptive, exposed relation to a path of fluid flow there through. One or more valve members are biased into sealing relation to a plurality of valve seat openings formed in the sealing portion. A sufficient, predetermined biasing force is exerted on the valve members to maintain them into a sealing orientation with the valve seats, thereby preventing the opening of the valve members until a sufficient water pressure is exerted thereon by a flow water, from which the air has been removed, along the path of fluid flow.

  • Publication number: 20140103234
Abstract: A valve assembly disposed within a water supply line upstream of a water meter and structured to reduce or significantly eliminate the passage of air through the meter including a housing having an interior channel and a valve body movably disposed within the channel. The valve body includes a sealing structure which is biased, under a predetermined force, into sealing relation with an inlet of the interior channel. The predetermined force is sufficient to prevent displacement of the sealing structure out of the sealing relation with the inlet, but insufficient to prevent displacement of the sealing structure when force from a normal water flow is exerted thereon from within the water supply line. Air flow within the water supply line will be compressed or otherwise be prevented from passing through the meter, thereby preventing unnecessary charges being made to the metered facility.

  • Publication number: 20100257916
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method to improve accuracy of a meter. The method first contemplates introducing a desired fluid into a valve assembly having an external casing with an inlet, outlet and interior side forming a chamber. Next, a desired fluid contacts a toggle stopper having a shaft, plate, and guides. A calibrated spring positioned around the shaft in contact with the plate assesses if the desired fluid meets a predetermined pressure. If the fluid meets this threshold, the calibrated spring compresses thereby toggling plate within the chamber to allow desired fluid to enter the chamber. Should the total pressure of the desired fluid and/or an undesired fluid create a pressure that fails to meet the predetermined pressure, the calibrated spring expands to seal the valve assembly. Upon such seal, there is an equalizing of both the desired and undesired fluids to the same pressure by decreasing the volume of the undesired fluid, causing the calibrated spring to compress and reopen.

  • Publication number: 20090126096
Abstract: An elevator assembly structured to regulate the accessible depth of a swimming pool including a platform selectively and automatically moveable between lowered, intermediate and raised positions thereby regulating the depth of the pool as well as providing a stable barrier and support area adjacent the open top of the pool when in a raised position. A support assembly and drive assembly are operatively associated to move and maintain the platform in any of the aforementioned positions. The platform includes a passage assembly comprising an apertured construction including a plurality of openings disposed and dimensioned to facilitate water flow therethrough as the platform moves within the pool. A sensor assembly is disposed to monitor predetermined vicinity adjacent the pool and functions to automatically dispose the platform in the raised position, thereby preventing drowning of individuals who cannot swim.
