  • Patent number: 10004372
Abstract: A mop includes a mop head, a secondary cleaning head and a handle. The mop head includes a secondary cleaning head chamber and a first attachment element. The secondary cleaning head is selectively receivable in the secondary cleaning head chamber and includes a second attachment element that cooperates with the first attachment element to selectively connect the secondary cleaning head with the mop head. The handle connects with the secondary cleaning head and is operatively connectable to the mop head. The handle is connected with the mop head when the secondary cleaning head is received in the secondary cleaning head chamber and the second attachment element is engaged with the first attachment element, and the handle is disconnected with the mop head when the secondary cleaning head is not received in the secondary cleaning head chamber.

  • Publication number: 20090039081
Abstract: A trash can is disclosed having an exterior shell, a liner seated within the shell, a latch pivotably attached to the liner for securing a flexible bag to the liner, and a handle to facilitate placing and removing of the liner from the shell. An optional aspect of the invention is to affix the handle of the liner to the latch. The liner of the trash can, in a featured embodiment, utilizes a latch having a body portion into which surplus of the flexible bag may be gathered and held. The trash can may further include a lid connected to the exterior shell. The lid connects to the shell using a front hinge and a back hinge and is actuated by a foot pedal. The actuating foot pedal is preferably seated at a base of the exterior shell and connects to the lever arm of the front hinge such that depressing the foot pedal exerts a downward force on the lever arm to open the lid. In this configuration, the lid is lifted via a downward pull on the first hinge rather than a direct upward force on the lid.

  • Patent number: 7458160
Abstract: An ergonomic handle for use with a hand tool, such as a pair of scissors or the like, is disclosed which includes first and second opposing lever members coupled together at a pivot point to permit reciprocating movement of the lever members between a closed position and an open position. The lever members may include a cutting blade or other tool feature on a first end adjacent the pivot point, and a handle on a second end adjacent the pivot point opposite the first end. The fixed handle has a loop portion which includes an inner surface and an outer surface along one side of which abuts a corresponding outer surface of the opposing lever member while in the closed position. Each loop portion is made from a rigid material segment and a resilient material segment, with the rigid material segment having a cavity open at the outer loop surface and the resilient material segment extending across the cavity at the inner loop surface.
