  • Publication number: 20240150968
Abstract: A method for obtaining a reinforced packaging paper by applying a residual fluid from the pre-treatment of lignocellulose waste with a water-alcohol mix to the packaging paper and the subsequent drying thereof. The residual fluid has a solid fraction in suspension of 1-70% by weight/volume relative to the total, with lignin and lignin-carbohydrate complexes; and a liquid fraction of 30-99% by weight/volume relative to the total, containing between 0.04 and 2.07 g/L glucose, between 0.31 and 14.57 g/L xylose, between 0.09 and 3.46 g/L arabinose, between 0.083 and 12.40 g/L acetic acid, and between 0.004 and 8.73 g/L furfural. The method improves the efficiency of the cellulose pulp residual fluids in the process of reinforcing a packaging paper, and is suitable for all types of raw cardboard or paper.

  • Patent number: 11979243
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for supporting a two-stage device-to-device (D2D) discovery using a D2D interworking function (IWF). A D2D IWF component may be configured to perform mapping between an application running on an application server and a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network, and provide a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) to allow discovery to be provided as a service to D2D applications. An application identifier may be mapped to a 3GPP identifier. Further, a method and apparatus are described for performing client-server discovery. A first wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured for a listen-only operation, and a second WTRU may be configured to transmit beacons. The first and second WTRUs may perform a radio access network (RAN) discovery procedure at an access stratum (AS) layer. A method and apparatus for performing charging for D2D service using a D2D IWF are also described.

  • Patent number: 11755947
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for offline evaluation of machine learning models with noise reduction are disclosed. A trigger computation system generates a plurality of experimental requests. The experimental requests do not represent unmodified requests received from clients in a production environment. At least one parameter value varies for individual ones of the experimental requests. The trigger computation system provides the experimental requests to a first machine learning model and a second machine learning model. The first machine learning model and the second machine learning model produce a set of results based at least in part on the experimental requests. The trigger computation system determines a reduced set of results for which the first machine learning model and the second machine learning model differ. An evaluation of the first machine learning model or the second machine learning model is performed using the reduced set of results.

  • Publication number: 20230101643
Abstract: A gaming system including a housing, a reel assembly supported by the housing, the reel assembly including a rotatable reel having a reel strip having a section that is of a static color category and having a plurality of static color characteristics, and a backlight for the reel strip configured to provide a range of different backlighting for the reel strip, a transmissive display device supported by the housing in a position in front of the reel assembly, the transmissive display device defining a see-through window aligned with the rotatable reel, and a processor that causes the rotatable reel to rotate, the rotatable reel to stop at a position in which the section of the reel strip is viewable through the window, the backlight to provide backlighting to the reel strip based on the static color category and one of the plurality of static color characteristics of the section of the reel strip, and that communicates data to the transmissive display device to cause the transmissive display device to display

  • Patent number: 11182305
Abstract: To reduce the computational resources used to generate a response, certain inputs from a first request and corresponding outputs are stored in a data structure that is returned to a client device concurrent with a response. When a subsequent request is received, if an input of the subsequent request matches an input stored in the data structure, the output that corresponds to that input is used in a response rather that recomputing the output. For inputs that do not match an input in the data structure, an output is computed and included in a response. The data structure is then returned to the client device concurrent with the subsequent response. Outputs in the data structure may be periodically validated, or may be associated with an expiration time, to ensure that the data structure includes current and valid data.

  • Patent number: 10483852
Abstract: A control method controls a power converter circuit. The power converter circuit includes at least one inductive element (L) storing an output energy, a charging switch (C) for charging the inductive element (L), a releasing switch (R) for releasing the stored output energy from the inductive element (L) and for charging the inductive element (L) with a compensation energy and an output capacitor (Cout) saving the released output energy. The compensation energy is used to achieve Minimized Voltage Switching (MVS) condition when switching on the charging switch (C). A turn on time (te, tdis) of the releasing switch is adjusted by a closed-loop control of a compensation control variable (Vaux) measured in the power converter circuit or of a characteristic value (Vsample) derived from this compensation control variable (Vaux), and a respective power converter circuit.

  • Patent number: 6491462
Abstract: A printer for printing on a first medium in the form of a continuous band or on a second medium in the form of a sheet, in a print zone of the printer, is provided. The printer comprising a movable cover giving access to the print zone for loading said second media, a hold down system for holding said second media in position before and during printing, a first sensor to detect opening of the cover linked to said hold down system, storage means for storing said first medium, a feeder for moving said first medium from the storage means to the print zone, wherein when the cover is opened by a user of the printer the sensor activates the hold down system to accept said second medium without any further action by said user. The printer may have a second sensor for activating the feeder to withdraw the first medium from a ready to print position to a standby position while simultaneously moving the second medium through the print zone.

  • Patent number: 6280106
Abstract: A print media feeder system to automatically change the supply of a printing medium in a printer between a feeder mode of medium in continuous band form and a feeder mode of medium in cut sheet form, comprising a pair of rollers arranged at a point along a first movement path of a first printing medium in continuous band form, said point being loacated between the input for said first medium and the main roller pulling the same and which rollers can be made to cooperate to, selectively, pull said first medium in one or the other direction along said first movement path; valve means for the printing medium arranged to cooperate with said main pulling roller for the purpose of allowing the passage, along the length of said first movement path, of said first medium towards or from a printing area, and to prevent passage of a second printing medium in cut sheet form from said printing area, around said main roller and along said first movement path, which valve means divert said second printing medium in cut shee
