  • Patent number: 9127519
Abstract: A centralizer assembly having a tubular body member with upper and lower channels extending around the external surface of said central tubular body member. A bow spring assembly having bow spring members is installed around the outer surface of the tubular body member and can rotate about the outer surface of the central tubular body member. Bow spring heel supports prevent the bow spring members from contacting the outer surface of the central tubular member when compressed. Non-abrasive materials prevent damage to wellhead or other polished bore receptacles. A robust bolster frame protects the centralizer assembly during shipping, storage or other periods of non-use.

  • Publication number: 20130292135
Abstract: An apparatus for launching objects, such as during casing cementing operations, in wells having dual gradient fluid systems or certain downhole internal diameter restrictions. A launching assembly is located below a dual gradient valve or other restriction. In one embodiment, control lines extend from the earth's surface to the launching assembly and control actuation of the launching assembly. In an alternative embodiment, a receptacle assembly is positioned above a dual gradient valve or other restriction, with control lines extending from the receptacle assembly to the launching assembly. A dart or other triggering object is launched from the earth's surface to the receptacle assembly in order to control actuation of the launching assembly.

  • Patent number: 7472753
Abstract: The present invention provides a cementing system and method for wellbores by cementing an annulus between a wellbore casing and a wellbore. In at least one embodiment, the invention includes a landing collar defining a restricted passage, a wellbore casing defining a passage coupled to the landing collar, a top cementing plug for sealingly engaging the wellbore casing, a bottom cementing plug for sealingly engaging the wellbore casing, and a fluid injection assembly coupled to the wellbore casing for injecting fluidic materials into the wellbore casing and controllably releasing the top cementing plug and the bottom cementing plug into the wellbore casing. The bottom cementing plug includes a plug body defining a plug passage, a frangible membrane for sealing the plug passage, and a one-way valve for controlling the flow of fluidic materials through the plug passage. The invention also includes the bottom cementing plug and methods for operation.
