    Abstract: A testing signal generation device for testing performance of a disc drive includes a signal generating unit, a signal converting unit, and a signal transmitting unit. The signal generating unit generates at least one pulse signal for controlling the disc drive to work at predetermined working modes. The signal converting unit converts the at least one pulse signal into at least one test signal. The signal transmitting unit transmits the at least one test signal to the disc drive, to control the disc drive to read data from an optical disc in the disc drive. A testing signal generation method for testing performance of the disc drive is also provided.

    Abstract: An electronic device with a battery displays a label for indicating different power levels of the battery. The label comprises a plurality of columns. Each of the columns is capable of being illuminated. A number of the columns lighted correspond to a corresponding the power levels in a one-to-one relationship. The electronic device comprises a detection module, storage, an acquiring module, a check module, and a display module. The detection module detects the current voltage of the battery at regular intervals and stores the information in the storage. The acquiring module acquires a previous detected voltage from the storage. The check module checks whether the current voltage is a fluctuated voltage. The display displays the label with the numbers of the lighted columns corresponding to the power level which contains the previous detected voltage when the current voltage is a fluctuated voltage.

    Abstract: An electronic device includes a CPU and an MCU intercommunicating with the CPU. The MCU sends an instruction to the CPU at a predetermined time interval. The MCU detects whether a response is received from the CPU within a predetermined time period after the instruction is sent, and determines that the CPU is nonfunctioning when no response is received from the CPU. The MCU restarts the CPU when the CPU is determined to be nonfunctioning. A method for releasing an electronic device from a nonfunctioning state is also provided.

    Abstract: A driving IC is being controlled by a host IC to update a driving program stored in a storage with a SPI interface. The driving IC includes a IIC interface, an identifying module, and a calculating module. The IIC interface receives an instruction from the host IC in the IIC protocol format. The identifying module determines whether the received instruction is an update instruction, and generates a converting instruction when the received instruction is the update instruction. The calculating module converts the received instruction into a SPI format according to a predetermined converting rule. The SPI interface transmits the converted instruction in the SPI format to the storage.

    Abstract: A test apparatus includes a sending chip, a receiving chip, first and second peripheral component interconnect express (PCI-E) buses between the sending and receiving chips, first to fourth pads, and first and second terminal resistors. Each pad includes first and second areas laid with copper and a void third area between the first and second areas. The first and second areas of the first and second pads are connected to the first and second PCI-E buses. The first areas of the third and fourth pads are connected to the first and second PCI-E buses. A first end of the first terminal resistor is connected to the second area of the third pad, a second end of the first terminal resistor is grounded. A first end of the second terminal resistors is connected to the second area of the fourth pad, a second end of the second terminal resistor is grounded.
