A modular smart light method can provide safety illumination during a user's operation of a vehicle. The method can include attaching a modular smart light to a front mount. The modular smart light can operate in a front orientation mode based upon the determination of the sensor that the modular smart light is in the front orientation. The modular smart light can switch from operating in the front orientation mode to operating in a rear orientation mode based upon a determination of the sensor.
