  • Publication number: 20080000437
Abstract: The invention relates to a radiator (10), especially for vehicles, radiator comprising upwardly extending headers (11). Said headers (11) are fluidically interconnected in the longitudinal direction by means of parallel cooling pipes (12). Corrugated ribs (13) are arranged between the cooling pipes (12), the ridge lines (14) thereof extending in the direction of the width (B) of the radiator (10) and lying respectively alternately on both sides of a cooling pipe (12). The inventive radiator is also provided with a lateral metal plate (40) which extends parallel to the cooling pipes (12), on the outside between the headers (11), the width (b) of said plate corresponding essentially to the width (B) of the corrugated ribs (13). According to the invention, the material of the at least one lateral metal plate (40) is weaker in the regions adjacent to the headers (11).

  • Publication number: 20070242078
Abstract: A system includes a computing device to obtain encoded content data corresponding to at least one participant of a virtual reality environment. A memory device stores at least one texture corresponding to the at least one participant. A single decoder decodes the encoded content data into decoded content buffers for the at least one texture of one participant of the virtual reality environment. A processor determines whether the at least one texture is located in a pre-determined region of the virtual reality environment displayed to a program user. In response to the at least one texture being located in the pre-determined region, the processor updates the at least one texture with the decoded content buffers.

  • Publication number: 20070178230
Abstract: The invention relates to a lens-coating gas dispenser and to the corresponding coating device, lens and method. The inventive dispenser consists of a flat outlet plate comprising a plurality of outlet holes which are distributed using the following method consisting in: [a] defining an auxiliary surface; [b] positioning first points on a first flat surface, such that the points are distributed with a constant surface density, said first surface resting on the lower edge of the auxiliary surface; and [c] tracing projection lines from a projection origin, which pass through each of the first points and continue to meet the auxiliary surface, thereby defining projected points on the auxiliary surface, and, finally, tracing downwards from the projected points as far as the flat outlet plate, such as to define the position of the outlet holes.

  • Publication number: 20070162863
Abstract: A selectable three dimensional virtual pointer (501) that can be selected by a collaborator and displayed within a virtual collaboration environment (200) as being sourced by an avatar (202) that corresponds to the collaborator who selected the pointer. This pointer can be used, for example, to point towards a given object (205) within the virtual collaboration environment. So configured, in a preferred approach this orientation with respect to source and target persists regardless of which collaborator views the pointer (and hence the perspective view of the pointer varies with respect to the viewer in order to ensure this orientation).

  • Publication number: 20070042096
Abstract: An efficient process for enzymatically peeling citrus fruit applies a vacuum to perforated fruit and, while maintaining that vacuum, introduces an enzyme solution to the perforated fruit. The fruit is infused with the enzyme by releasing the vacuum pressure. After incubating the enzyme, the albedo of the fruit is weakened and the citrus peel can be readily removed. The peeled fruit may be divided into sections and the encompassing membrane removed.

  • Publication number: 20050202712
Abstract: A wiring device is provided with three different ways in which the bared end of an electrical conductor can be coupled to the contacts inside the body of a wiring device. A clamping plate is placed upon the threaded body of a terminal screw. In a first arrangement the bared end is formed about the terminal screw and trapped between the head of the terminal screw and a first surface of the clamping plate which forces the conductor into firm contact with the first surface of the clamping plate. In another arrangement the straight bared end of the conductor is trapped between a second surface of the clamping plate and a contact plate. The movement of the conductor and clamping plate is controlled by the terminal screw. Apertures are placed in the bottom of the device housing adjacement the contacts in the housing. A contact arm, formed as a one-way clutch grips the straight bared end of a conductor to make contact with the contacts of the device but prevents withdrawal of the conductor.

  • Publication number: 20050106657
Abstract: The method of fermentation with selected strains of B. trispora described in the present invention makes it possible to achieve lycopene yields higher than those currently described. The methods of isolation, purification and formulation are applicable to any natural source of lycopene, especially to submerged cultures of mucoral fungi of the genera Blakeslea, Choanephora, Phycomyces or Mucor. The method of extraction makes it possible to simplify the recovery process and increase the purity of the product, relative to the methods previously described. The methods of formulation provide high added value, since they make it possible to obtain stabilized preparations of lycopene for direct application in the food and pharmaceutical fields.

  • Publication number: 20050079223
Abstract: The present invention describes a method of preparation of formulations of microcrystalline lutein, particularly in the form of esters, which are resistant to oxidation and are soluble in hydrophilic and/or lipophilic media. For these formulations, the esters of lutein are mixed with antioxidants, vegetable oils and/or organic solvents, and this initial mixture is submitted to various stages depending on the type of final formulation required. These formulations are suitable for direct application as colourants in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics fields. They can also be used as diet supplements.

  • Publication number: 20050032470
Abstract: A casing is embodied as a hollow stiff cylindrical support provided with an attachment mechanism in its coupling to the stuffing horn, on which is placed a suitably shirred tube which in turn is coated with a separation sheet and finally by a tubular net, also compressed or shirred, and which together with the inner tube extends beyond the support tube and is clamped against the tube by a clip, staple or knot such that during the stuffing operation the shirred tube and the equally shirred net are axially extended, with a simultaneous yet independent extension of the two elements favored with the aid of the intermediate separation sheet.

  • Publication number: 20040166107
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pharmaceutical composition comprising F(ab′)2 antibody fragments that are preferably free from albumin and of whole antibodies and also substantially free of pyrogens, and an effective amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. It is also directed to a method for the production of a pharmaceutical composition comprising F(ab′)2 antibody fragments using serum or blood plasma of a mammal that has been previously immunized as a source of antibodies. The serum or blood plasma is digested with an enzyme pepsin, followed by separation and purification until the pharmaceutical composition of F(ab′)2 fragments is free of albumin and complete antibodies, and substantially free of pyrogens.
