  • Publication number: 20200337710
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a self-expanding braid for treating an aneurysm. The braid can include a lumen with a proximal end opposite a distal end. Translating the braid can cause a distal segment of the braid to expand and form an outer occlusive sack while a segment proximal the distal segment can invert into the outer occlusive sack like a tube sock. The braid can then be detached from its delivery system.

  • Patent number: 10806461
Abstract: A detachment system for delivering an implantable medical device to a target location of a body vessel has a generally hollow distal tube. The distal tube includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a compressible portion of the tube itself, between the proximal and distal ends which is axially movable from a compressed to an elongated condition. A generally hollow proximal tube has a proximal end and a distal end. An engagement system engages and deploys the implantable medical device engaged at the distal end of the distal tube. The engagement system moves the compressible portion to the compressed condition when engaging the implantable medical device, and deploys the implantable medical device and releases the compressible portion to the elongated condition.

  • Patent number: 10799243
Abstract: An embolic device deployment system having a lumen with proximal and distal ends. An embolic device having a proximal retaining ring and an expandable member having a contracted and expanded state, with two apertures. The expandable member is disposed in the lumen in the expanded state. An engagement member has a distal loop extending through the retaining ring and a proximal loop extending into the lumen. The detachment member slides within the lumen and another of the apertures and is disposed through the loops. It comprises a bump on the detachment member between the loops. When the detachment member is in the distal loop and the distal loop is disposed within the retaining ring, the embolic device is in an engaged position. Pulling the detachment member withdraws it from the distal loop. The bump contacts the proximal loop to assist in the disengagement of the distal loop from the retaining ring to release the embolic device.

  • Publication number: 20200305885
Abstract: An implant having an embolic portion and a braided tubular occluding portion can be delivered through a catheter and implanted in an aneurysm. The embolic portion can be an elongated embolic structure that can coil as it is inserted into an aneurysm sac. The occluding portion can be a braided tube that is shaped to encircle the elongated embolic portion during delivery and expands to form a cup shape within the aneurysm sac, nesting in the aneurysm neck when implanted. The implant can include a closure mechanism positioned between the occluding portion and the embolic portion that can serve the purpose of restricting an end of the occluding portion at the trough of the cup shape, connecting the embolic portion to the occluding portion, and/or providing a detachment feature for connecting to a delivery system.

  • Publication number: 20200305890
Abstract: Balloon catheter devoid of guidewire or guidewire lumen and having a proximal shaft with only a single continuous lumen. A coil assembly is mounted at its proximal end to the distal end of the proximal shaft defining an interface therebetween. Disposed about a distal section of the proximal shaft and a proximal section of the coil assembly is a sleeve. A balloon, having a vent hole, forms a proximal leg seal about an outer surface of a distal end of the sleeve and an opposite distal leg seal. The sleeve covers the interface and extends axially in a distal direction terminating underneath the proximal leg seal of the balloon. A distal section of the coil assembly at least partially coincides with the distal leg seal of the balloon. A wire member secured at a plurality of connection points along the coil assembly extends axially within the balloon.

  • Patent number: 10603157
Abstract: A braid implant delivery and retraction device having a catheter, an expandable element and a delivery wire with distal, pusher, and recapture bumps. The expandable element having compressed, partially delivered, and implanted configurations. Delivering the braid can include engaging the distal bump till the braid is in the partially delivered configuration. If the user needs to recapture the braid, the recapture bump engages the braid proximally. To fully implant the braid, the distal bump is used until the braid is partially delivered and the distal bump disengages, now the pusher bump completes implanting by proximally pushing the braid completely out of the catheter.

  • Publication number: 20200093499
Abstract: Implant deployment systems can generally can include a braided implant that can be detachably attached to a delivery tube by an expansion ring that can be positioned within a notch on an outer surface of the delivery tube near a distal end of the delivery tube. The implant can be positioned within a lumen of the delivery tube and remain attached to the delivery tube as the assembly is fed through a microcatheter to a treatment site. Once the braided implant is implanted, the expansion ring can move from a collapsed configuration that is engaged with the notch of the delivery tube to a deployed configuration that releases the delivery tube, thereby releasing the braided implant from the delivery tube.

  • Publication number: 20190380722
Abstract: A device for capturing an obstruction in a vasculature can include a first elongated member, an expandable element, an invertible element, and a gap positioned between the expandable element and the invertible element sized to be placed across the obstruction. The expandable element and the invertible element can be positioned near the distal end of the first elongated member. The expandable element can expand from a collapsed delivery configuration to an expanded configuration. The invertible element can expand from a collapsed delivery configuration to an expanded configuration, and the invertible element can invert from the expanded configuration to an inverted configuration, thereby forming a pocket. The pocket can envelope at least a portion of the gap and can thereby capture an obstruction that is in the gap.
