Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a method of operating a session management entity in a communication network. The method comprises sending (901) a first request to a user plane entity in the communication network. The first request relates to UE-to- UE communication and indicates a first set of Internet Protocol, IP, addresses available for allocation to UEs for which UE-to-UE communication is one of blocked or allowed; and at least one subset of the first set of IP addresses for which UE-to-UE communication is the other one of blocked or allowed.

Abstract: A technique of triggering transition control between different RRC states of wireless terminal devices is described. A method aspect of this technique comprises receiving a request for an RRC state transition control for a terminal device, wherein the request includes at least one identifier associated with the terminal device. The method further comprises obtaining a temporal inactivity parameter associated with the at least one identifier, wherein the temporal inactivity parameter depends on an estimated period of time between two traffic activities of the terminal device. Further still, the method comprises triggering, based on the temporal inactivity parameter or a parameter derived on the basis of the temporal inactivity parameter, the RRC state transition control for the terminal device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for evaluating data traffic in a communication network. The method comprising establishing a protocol session between a control plane, CP, node and a user plane, UP, node and configuring, by the CP node, a first detection rule to be used for event notification, and at least one next detection rule to be used for traffic detection. The first detection rule comprises an indicator indicating the highest precedence, and identifies a first instruction rule indicating an event to be notified and a continuation flag indicating evaluation of at least one next detection rule. The at least one next detection rule comprises an indicator indicating a lower precedence than the one in the first detection rule and identifies a next instruction rule to be applied to a matched traffic.

A service request is received from an originating station (ST-A) indicating an identifier of a terminating station (ST-B). The service request is checked against number portability information related to the identifier of the terminating station (ST-B), and against accounting information of the originating station (ST-A). The service can proceed without further queries for number portability. A service request is received for a terminating station (ST-B) indicating an identifier of an originating station (ST-A). Accounting information of the terminating station (ST-B) is updated according to number portability information related to the identifier of the originating station (ST-A).
