  • Publication number: 20240400223
Abstract: A method for assisting landing of an aircraft on a landing runway of a destination airport facility includes two successive determinations of the position of the aircraft with respect to the landing runway and based on a photographic image taken from the aircraft, respectively according to two different algorithms for determining the position of the aircraft, together with the supply of at least one piece of information representative of a difference between the two determined positions. It is thus possible to verify whether the destination landing runway observed from the photographic image taken from the aircraft is indeed the target destination runway on which a landing of the aircraft is planned, or whether there exists an error in positioning of the aircraft with respect to the destination landing runway.

  • Publication number: 20240404416
Abstract: A method for assisting with landing an aircraft is disclosed and configured to determine a number of probable theoretical positions (POS1, POS2, POS3) of the aircraft equal to the facing plurality of runways of a destination airport facility to reproject the runways into an image (F) obtained by a camera of the aircraft by means of a theoretical camera model (e.g. pinhole camera model), each reprojection being with reference to one of the determined theoretical positions (POS1, POS2, POS3); and to establish, for each of the reprojections, a consistency score making it possible to then deliver an estimated position (POSA) of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 11829403
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs for generating a playlist of media content items that are popular with the friends of the first user. A first user taste profile is determined and a user taste profile is determined for each of a plurality of social connections. A similarity score is calculated between the first user taste profile and the user taste profile of each social connection. Media content items consumed by social connections with the highest similarity score are selected and placed in a playlist for the first user.

  • Patent number: 8881193
Abstract: Improved enhanced TV programming provides the capability for a TV viewer watching one channel to be notified of interesting programming events happening or about to happen on other channels. The present invention overcomes the problem addressed by “surfing TV channels” by providing notifications that alert enhanced TV viewers to other programming events happening or about to happen on different channels that are not presently being watched. This enables the viewer to watch a primary program on one channel without interruption and be timely notified about interesting programming events about to occur on other channels. The viewer then may have the option of switching to another channel based on the information included with the event notification.

  • Patent number: 6792617
Abstract: Improved enhanced TV programming provides the capability for event driven recording of TV programs and program segments. Recording a selected program segment of a digital TV program includes receiving a digital TV stream including the digital TV program, automatically starting recording of the selected program segment of the digital TV program when a first event notification is received, and automatically stopping recording of the selected program segment when a second event notification is received.

  • Publication number: 20030058853
Abstract: A wireless local area network system includes a network address translation (NAT) router coupled to a public network. The NAT router is adapted to assign a private address to a mobile wireless device and to assign a global address for communications to the public network. A plurality of access points is provided, each of the access points being in communication with the network address translation (NAT) router. The access points are adapted to provide wireless communications with the mobile wireless device. The mobile wireless device communicates with at least one of the access points at a time. Data for the mobile wireless device is broadcast to all of the access points. Recently-received data is buffered at one or more of the access points adjacent to the at least one access point currently in communication with the mobile wireless device.
